Stayed here twice now a few weeks apart - both times I’ve stayed the air conditioning has not worked and the rooms have been very hot. Hotel had no other rooms to put me in both times so gave me a fan as a solution or asked me to open the window instead there is a lot of street noise so this was not ideal - there is also no plug by the bed so had to have the fan plugged in by the door blocking the exit. The receptionists were very accommodating and understanding but with no other rooms there was nothing they could do to fix the situation The second room I stayed in the tap was also broken and would not spin to give water so I had to use the shower water to wash my hands and brush my teeth. I am not a picky traveller but do expect the basic necessities to work. Too many things broken or not working combined with poor design decisions, though the front staff were very nice, not a great experience and didn’t get what I paid for or was expecting from a 4 star hotel. Happy to pass it off the first time but not twice in a row. Was offered no form of compensation or reasonable solution
I'm in two minds about this hotel experience. Cause every experience with the staff was good, especially the breakfast has been a highlight. The hotel is located nicely. But the rooms didn't fit the standard, as they were really small and simple - a bunch of them in the cellar, quite smelly and not even worth calling them hotel room. A pity we couldn't get a nicer room. Food & drinks: 24/7 reception is friendly and open-minded when it comes to drinks, etc. Breakfast did offer fully english to international choices, vegetarian is no problem and it's freshly cooked
We enjoyed our stay here. Room is small but for 2 night stay its quite all right and you have everything necessary. Kettle with twinnings tea was hidden in the closet. Breakfast is great, delicious.Rooms: 5/5
This was such a positive experience! We made our reservation at the Mornington Hotel last minute because there were some problems with the hotel we initially booked. However, the staff of the Mornington gave us a warm welcome and even provided us with an upgrade. We got a beautiful room with a comfortable bed. We would definitely recommend staying here.
Really lovely hotel. The Breakfast was delicious. Both continental and a full English, but had to queue for a while due to there not being enough tables. All staff were really friendly and couldn’t do enough for you. Iron, hair dryer and kettle with tea/coffee in rooms. Newspapers for you to take in reception changed daily. Less than 5 minutes walk to the underground. Would definitely stay again.
We stayed at the hotel on a work trip for one night. Our room was very spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The only minus was that there were no separate hand towels. But everything else was great. We arrived early in the morning, and how pleased we were to find out that our room was ready and we could check into it. After checking in, the administration called us to ask if everything was okay with our room. I would definitely stay there again! Thank you! Rooms: The room with a balcony is quite spacious, there is a separate small room for a wardrobe. The room has an ironing board and iron, hair dryer, towels.
The staff at the front desk was always very friendly and helpful. We arrived earlier and they kept our luggage until the room was ready. The room was small but super clean and shower was amazing. Nice bed and a kettle was available to brew tea that they always left for us accompanied by delicious biscuits! Lovely experience. Walkability: The hotel is very well located in a quiet street but just few blocks away from the subway station. On the neighborhood you find many cafes, restaurants, supermarkets and fast-food.
Very, very small rooms. My sons room could have been a closet. I overheard a man at reception asking for a bigger room, and he had no room to open his suitcase. No coffee or tea in the rooms. The bathroom sinks have a terrible odor. If you want breakfast, it's $20.00. On our last day, the smoke alarm went off at 3 am twice. Apparently, someone was using a blow dryer. Location is great! Close to the underground and great pubs. Nando's has good food and very close.
We stayed here for 3 nights.. the Hotel itself is in a great location and really nicely decorated. All of the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Downside of the hotel was we got a room on the 4th floor and it was just like sleeping in the attic way too small for 2 people. Also the Aircon for all the rooms were controlled by reception and the rooms were very hot.
This hotel was perfect for me as a solo traveler. Check in later at night due to my flight was no issue, and is SO close to public transit. I know folks said that the rooms are small, but... of course? It's London! I live in NYC so it's no issue or out of pocket thing for me at all. Still very well appointed, had everything I needed. Lovely upper floor room facing the back, super quiet. Every employee I encountered was helpful & incredibly nice. Will come back when I have another solo trip.
