Good location, but despite the fact we checked in late, the bin was still full and the bathroom still had dirty towels in it, which were then picked up after we entered. Both room and bathroom were ridiculously tiny, toilet space barely big enough for itself. Beds were pretty hard but OK. One window had a floodlight shining into it but the curtain did a good job blocking it. The area is somewhat quiet, within easy reach of the station. TV was decent. Very happy with the amount of plug sockets. Overall, passable especially for the price, but wouldn't recommend unless you were desperate.
Both myself and my partner were up very early to arrive into London and check-in at 9.30 the time given to us in our booking. We were travelling in for Wimbledon and were both tired and exhausted from being up so early to check-in on time. On arrival there was no clear signage for the hotel as there were building works going on. Fortunately a staff member came out and confirmed that a particular door was the entrance for the hotel otherwise we may have been wondering around for a lot longer. On arrival into the hotel reception we were told the room was no ready, the receptionist called the cleaners who said that they did not know when the rooms would be ready. We were asked to confirm our private details out aloud in the presence of other guests as the makeshift reception afforded no privacy whatsoever. My partner left his number with the staff to call us when the room was ready. We did not receive that call until around 40 minutes later. We did not officially check in until 10.15 which was 45 minutes later. This delay was enough to cause customer upset. I asked whether there would be any reduction in cost given that we were still being asked to check out at 3.30 despite a late check in which was wholly the hotel's fault, we were told that management could answer this. We were charged the full cost and no member of management discussed the cost reduction with us. I emailed afterwards and was told nothing would be given back.
Location is fantastic and the price was reasonable. Just off the main road in Earls Court with the Tube station just around the corner. Easy trip into downtown without the crowds. Several nice pubs, two small grocery stores, and a laundromat also nearby. Room was quite adequate, but the mattresses were pretty uncomfortable. Renovated bathroom was very nice and clean. Front desk staff were helpful in giving directions and calling a taxi. Lots of similar types of lodging on Penywern Road, Lord Jim seemed to be middle-grade quality. If the mattresses were replaced we would definitely stay here again.
About a two minute walk from Earl's Court station. Was greeted by a very friendly and helpful receptionist. Upon entering the room, it was decently clean, though the decor could be updated. Every thing worked well except for the shower drain which was extremely slow draining the water. Checking out the next day was painless. They allowed us to leave our luggage at the reception's office while we checked out the town before our next flight which was a few hours later.
We arrived late at night and I was shocked when we opened the room door of room 106. The room was only slightly broader than the bed. It was almost impossible to move or to find a place to open the suitcase beside on the bed. The bed was hard as a rock and the matrace very old and uncomfortable. The walls are as thin as paper and we heard a man snoring next door as if he was lying next to us. Moreover the room is close to the loud elevator. We did not sleep for a minute that night since it was so noisy. We complaint in the morning and moved to another room in Second Floor. I think this was one of the rooms that all of the good recommendations result from . It was okay for sleeping. We checked out early the next day and switched hotels.
Stopped here after a long flight from Melbourne to London Heathrow, decided to stay overnight in London before returning to Ireland. We arrived before 9am to the hotel but they were kind enough to keep our bags at the reception. The room was clean but of course really small, as to be expected for a cheap price in London. Only thing negative which comes to mind is during breakfast, the employees were talking really loudly and disturbed a peaceful breakfast. The woman working at breakfast was also really slow at clearing dirty bowls and plates which were piling up on our table. Would definitely recommend this place as a budget hotel, also excellently located 2 mins walk from Earls Court station.
Comfortable bed, nice warm shower but drainage problem and an annoying curtain that tries to hug your body whilst showering. Lovely big bath towels provided but no hand towels. No air con but windows that open however there was a lot of noise from cats. No hairdryer in room, I expect you need to ask. Similarly ironing board. Very clean and was not too noisy. Lift is a bit clanky. A comfortable budget hotel
I stayed here during a week-long vacation to London and I was pleased with all. I got in 7 hours before check-in, and found my room was ready which was a huge relief! I got the single room with a private bath. Yes, the room was small but who spends a bunch of time in a hotel room in London?. The room was made everyday very nicely. I didn’t try the tea in the room because there were plenty of coffee and bread shops within 2 blocks of this hotel. Also, being right next to the Piccadilly Line made getting anywhere in the city super easy all week. I will definitely recommend this place and I’ll be coming back to stay.
You can be sure that the management will make sure to take advantage to make some extra money. The only good thing with this hotel are the receptionists who were kind and helpful. However, upon arrival our room was not ready. After a 3 hour flight and a 2 hour bus ride one might need a bed to rest before going out for a long walk. After 4 hours at 7pm the room was still not ready. We were given a temporary room, meaning we had to repack the next morning to transfer to our room. During one of the nights we had no electricity to charge our devices. This left us without a camera and without a GPS. I wrote an email to the management about all this but they did not even bother to reply
Can complain for a one night stay. Rooms are on the small side but we're very warm. Location is great, a minute away from Earl's Court station. The only issue we had was being blocked from the Wifi for file-sharing even though we didn't do any! Wasn't an issue as there are ways around it, but still! All in all, great place for a night or two as long as you can deal with a small room!
