Very happy with our stay at Cardiff, great location, parking if required but we got the train and was a 10 minute walk through the centre. Was visiting the wales national sports centre which was again 5-10 minute walk through the castle park. The stadium was directly behind the hotel and all the shops and restaurants was a 5 minute walk. Had a lovely view of the castle park, room was spacious, clean and had a great sleep. Breakfast was of high quality and lots of variety - staff were friendly and helpful. Will definitely stay again if we visit Cardiff.
Good hotel. Right in front of the castle in the heart of the city. Walkable distance to almost everything within the city. Clubs, pubs, restaurants can be accessed by walking from the hotel.nThey serve Starbucks coffee in the bar and there's a big area for the bar. Nice and warm lobby area on the same level as the bar.nThe room was not too big and not too small decent size. Breakfast comfortable and the bathroom was very clean.
I stayed at this hotel for a conference with overnight stay and I'm very pleasantly surprised. The staff and service are amazing, they've been going above and beyond 24/7, the conference facilities are brilliant I'm talking tea, coffee and freshly stocked cakes and cookies. The hotel is nice, the aircon is good if not too good as it got a bit chilly!. The rooms could use a lick of fresh paint but the room service was great, the beds comfy, and the tvs had netflix & other apps and chrome cast. The breakfast buffet was good as well, cooked and continental options. The only thing I could ask for was a vending machine as the bar was pricey but you can walk out and access every shop, cafe or restaurant you'd want within 5 minutes so not that big of a deal. Very good location for visiting Cardiff as walkable anywhere and good transport links.
Went for a flying visit to see Stereophonics at the Principality Stadium and was looking for a close location to the stadium which offered parking. The hotel parking is offered on a first come basis so we intended to arrive around 11am after a 4 hour drive hoping we could bag a parking spot. The parking angels were smiling on us as when we arrived at 11:15 there were plenty. The hotel had kindly sent an email a week in advance to advise of city road closures because of the event, to advise of the timings we could gain access to the on site parking. This was very much appreciated and very helpful in my planning! We arrived, parked up and headed into reception to sort the parking and to let them know we would be back at 3pm to check in. Even though we were 4 hours early for check-in the very helpful, friendly front of house staff let us check in! There were some lovely added extras too. A glass of complimentary Prosecco laid on, headed, ‘Maybe Prosecco’ … clever! There is also a lovely adjoining bar and they were hosting a ‘Pre-Stereophonics Party’. These unexpected extras made our trip. All of the staff were so friendly and helpful. We had a twin room which was very clean with very comfortable beds and very welcome, on the hottest weekend of the year, air con which had been turned on to welcome us on arrival! Brilliant, thoughtful touch. When I researched hotels located close to the stadium Goggle advised 0.2 miles from hotel to stadium, however when we arrived in the hotel car park we discovered, to our delight, we were actually looking at the Peter Thomas Stand of the stadium and the phonics were sounding checking!nI could not recommend this hotel highly enough and will definitely be my first choice for my next visit to Cardiff.
One of the worst places to stay in Cardiff.nRooms are not clean and have no soundproofing at all. We could hear drunk people from next room and corridor.nBreakfast was awful and we had to get out and find a proper meal despite paying £14 per person for breakfast.nShower and bathroom was very dirty. Carpets seem to never cleaned and worn out.nSmall car park hardly have enough parking spaces which I believe mostly used by non residents.
