Our visit to Cardiff was made even more excellent by the wonderful service at the Hilton hotel! Once we were checked in, the staff were extremely helpful in assisting us with our bags until we settled in. The hotel itself is stunning, and very well kept and clean. Our room was beautiful with an amazing view of the castle! Super comfortable large bed, TV, a large walk in shower!nBreakfast was great and delicious , full buffet cooked breakfast with a selection of fruit cereal and pastries. Over all our stay was fantastic.
The staff were friendly, the room was clean as you would expect. But we sadly had an issue with the air con, when it was turned on it would leak above the door to the room directly onto the tile floor. We had to have the air con on due to the heat of the summer. We informed the front desk and was told whilst we were out to dinner that it had been fixed. We woke the next morning to a huge pool of water that I slipped on and hurt my back. I didn't see it and the slippers just slid from underneath me I informed the front desk again and was told someone would be up at around 8:30am to fix it. We had two young children staying with us as well and I expressed concerns about them slipping. By 9am no one had turned up. We put down 3 large towels to soak up the water, but we decided to check out as it just wasn't safe.nOn checking out we got our car park fee refunded and money off our breakfast but sadly, it did nothing for my bad back and the 4 hour drive I faced to get home. We were hoping for a more relaxed morning!nShame, as the hotel was lovely.nI would stay again but not that room. 412
Had a good stay at Hilton Cardiff overall. Rooms were newly renovated, so everything was clean and nice. Breakfast and room service were amazing, and location was too.nHowever, only one lift was working, so waiting time was long for both leaving the hotel and going up to rooms.
Our only negatives, were the pool was nice but needed some maintenance in a few spots,nBiggest negative was the parking, it was extremely expensive, over £30 per night, which we felt was not highlighted sufficiently and tight under ground grotty and poorly lit.nRooms were good the hotel bar expensive too.nGood location.
Stayed for a concert at the castle, few things like breakfast plates, mugs and cutlery weren't clean and tables weren't laid. In the room mirror and chiller were broken, but they gave us complimentary drinks for all the things we told them that were wrong. Don't park in the car park about £62 for 2 nights. But had a lovely time away with my partner, amazing view of the castle.
