I think this is quite a poor GP surgery in terms of treatment. It takes forever to get an appointment, they send you for pointless tests that they know will be ineffective e.g. X-ray rather than MRI, as well as missing what I imagine are quite simple things and I would expect better on. Staff are always lovely and friendly which is an upside.
I’ve never had a better gp…I’ve previously had difficulties with admin staff but the gp stepped in to help. I think difficulties always happen but the mark of a truly humanistic service is when they do happen someone steps in to calmly solve them rather than just immediately sending you through a bureaucratic complaints process. To be able to repair and dialogue is the mark of a truly caring organisation.
This is a really great practice; doctors are competent and really helpful, as are the nurses. Reception staff is so friendly and helpful, and the office itself is definitely much more welcoming than other practices I’ve visited.
Worst experience, multiple appointments were cancelled. Showed up for appointment made by phone only do be told there is no appointment in the system. Previously, I had my test samples lost. LE: The manager called me after I filed a complaint and was very apologetic, I made it to my appointment in the end, and the nurse was lovely. LEE: I keep having issues with each interaction, mismanaged blood test results, getting them after weeks. Avoid.
Very unorganized GP, I’ve been going to this GP for years, left the area and come and join them again. Before you could’ve get an appointment same day, those days same long gone. The Doctors themselves dunno what they are doing, to me you have to dignoise yourself and tell them what’s best for you, and even then no action will be taken
Oppressive, authoritarian, non-inclusive and not person-centred approach choice was not offered inspite my personal / health. Abuse of position/ role and power that goes with the role. The receptionist, mimi called me, shared thst she has been task to arrange a face-to-face with a certain GP & she offered me 7:45am in March, I explained that due to health & other personal reasons I don't wake that early , which would mean me rushing down and /or missing it, so i requested some consideration & other choice. The lady, Mimi respond was that this particular GP is in high demand and there was no availability thru March so she can't offer me anything else. I said nothing to April & she said yes. So i suggested the practice call me to rearrange when a slot opens up. I called MW who advised that i call the practice back & be sure Mimi said what she said & get the name of the GP then they will help book online or call the Practice. After 6mins I call back and her colleague was able to book me another day in March & around 11amish.
Brockwell park surgery not a good doctors.when I first joined it was good. Now they ask u what do u think is wrong... prescription late . And u wait long to be seen.
When I joined this surgery it was amazing. But over time it got worse and worse. Rude receptionists that never returned calls when they'd promised to. Doctors who were more interested in ticking boxes than my actual health. A new system in place that made a hoop impossible for me to jump. A senior partner that sat on my DVLA. License renewal for over 2 months which affected my livelyhood, despite numerous requests from DVLA and other doctors in the practice to complete it. When she finally did complete it, she filled the form out so badly and inaccurately that it caused me even longer delays. I'm a person despite having many health conditions ,never visits the doctor with a Cough or a cold .and work bloody hard and pay my taxes. This surgery obstructed me making a living. I felt like I was being cleansed from this surgery they had been so difficult for so long, I had no choice but to leave. After I threatened legal action, my DVLA form was completed on the same day, all be it maliciously to create even for problems.this place is more like a coven than a GP surgery!
I find this local surgery so reliable and lovely. Easy to take my young daughter with me and play in the garden while we wait to be called for our appointments. Staff is clear and courteous. All the GPs are lovely, but also no-nonsense! This is the way the NHS should be <3.
*UPDATE* from below review: No point complaining to practice managers! Laurie failed to remain impartial and never contacted me to discuss the complaint. I received a warning letter, via email, from her 8 working days later, with a biased tone, going by the false version of events stated by the receptionist Karen, who has not only exaggerated the conversation but also lied. Will be taking this further to the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman. It is ironic that Laurie thought it was appropriate to add "please may I ask that you speak to them with courtesy", perhaps this should be relayed to her receptionist Karen!! *original complaint* As advised by the receptionist Karen, here is the review that she said I could put online regarding our experience with Karen this morning. Requested for a Doctor to call back, at some stage not urgent, regarding a concern over the sleeping medication of my 86 year old relative who has multiple medical conditions. Struggled with the receptionist Karen from the beginning, trying to deduce whether it was necessary or not. She decided to have a word with Dr Hickey before placing the name on the list, and following this Karen called back to say that Dr Hickey said it is not urgent and we should write in. We explained that the last time we used the write in method we did not receive a response. We reiterated to Karen that the matter is not urgent, and we are requesting a call back at any point either today OR tomorrow. I requested to speak to either Laura Walters or Laurie Brown, only to be told by Karen "leave a review online" and she proceeded to PUT THE PHONE DOWN ON ME before I could finish my conversation!!!! Karen felt the need to state during our conversation that she has been working in the NHS for 23 years - perhaps her communication skills should be reviewed and greatly improved. Had to call back, only to be put through to Karen again who naturally denied putting the phone down on me. I requested to speak to another receptionist, and Mimi placed a message, with no problems at all, to Laura or to call me back, and I am yet to hear back from either of them.
