This place is amazing. Beautiful interior and outstanding food that’s levels above the best gastropubs. We didn’t have a booking but managed to get a table and served quickly. Vegan and vegetarian menus available request and the service is so helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. We’ll definitely be back and would recommend a visit if you’re in the area.
We visited on a Sunday around 5pm. The pub is lovely inside with a strong country theme and a cosy atmosphere to match. The Sundays menu was on which meant Roasts! The food was good on the most part however the deserts felt a little expensive at £8 for what you got, especially the crème brûlée. Overall I would give the food 4 stars. What really let the pub down was the staff that say. All of them seemed fed up and like they didn’t want to be there. Drinks were slammed down on the table and cutlery almost thrown across the table with no effort made to come round to your side and place them down as would be expected. Service gets 2 stars at best. Unfortunately on this day the pub did not live up to its name of a gastro pub. Perhaps an off day for them, would like to try the full emu one evening t give it another chance.
5 stars for the food, but 2 knocked off for the service unfortunately Positives: Lovely pub, great food. Very much enjoyed the Sunday roast. A little pricey but worth it Negatives: Having to wait atleast 35 minutes after being given dessert menus, to actually order our desserts. We had to ask twice, and waitresses were walking past us, giving eye contact but ignoring us. Then as we were finishing desserts, being rushed because they needed the table back. A little cheeky to keep us waiting over half an hour, only to then rush us for our table back, and then to be stung £5 service charge on top of the bill.
Just had a refit, amazing menu, delicious well presented food, great service The Bladebone is a must-do place to eat. It’s our go-to gastro pub that sets the taste buds alight. Highly recommended.
We had great food here and service was good too, from start to finish the whole dining experience was great.
What a lovely little pub. Greeted warmly at the door. All of the staff were friendly throughout. They seemed pretty close knit as well which is nice to see. They also gave us some hot water to heat a baby bottle up, which I was grateful for. The decor was beautiful. The country style and the log burning fireplaces really gave it a nice aesthetic and feel. Creating a decent atmosphere. The food was just amazing! I am still thinking about it now 3 weeks later! My favourite of all the dishes was the lemon cheesecake. Definitely making the drive to come back
Food was very nice. Nicely prepared and presented. Strangely my starter was large and my main quite small. Opposite was true of my wife's meal. Service was good but it was a little slow. Very busy. No complaints as we booked late but they worked hard to fit us in. The place has.lost a bit of character in the refurbishment but still a pleasant visit.
Fantastic country reasturant, beautiful setting and amazing food. Staff are very helpful and always try to please even through the difficult times we are facing at the moment. The Bladebone currently has a 3 for £20deal ,Wednesday and Thursday 12 - 3 / 5.30 - 9.30 with no compromise on quality defo recommend A* beautiful covered patio areas and lower garden over looking fields.
We've been several times for Sunday lunch and the food and service has always been excellent. We recently had and evening meal after the refurb of the kitchen, the staff were polite and efficient and the food was tasty. But I've given it 3 stars due to the portion sizes, they were tiny! I think this pub is trying to be a high end restaurant and it's not. I'm not a big guy but I left the pub still feeling hungry as did most of my party, the meal was just not worth the money we paid and it's not a cheap pub.
Lovely dinner 6 of us ate for my birthday and all had the 3 courses for £20 excellent choices and good portions. Very good service too. First time I've been there, definitely go back.
