Lovely historic pub in a pretty village. Good beers and menu. Very nice staff. Street parking so you mayhave to park nearby but well worth a short walk
Brilliant village pub, great food and nice selection of drinks. A nice stop off place when going for family bike rides
2 years on from my first review, still one of our favourite local pubs. Lovely lunch today, Walnut, blue cheese and endive salad, spaghetti with cavolo nero pesto, cod with greens and mash. 2020 Super tasty Bambi burger & slow cooked lamb served by cheerful, friendly staff. All wrapped up in a cosy pub with open fires & great beer.
Great selection of beers and amazing ciders. My mother in law said it’s one of the best risottos she’s ever had and the venison was tender flavoursome and really enjoyable. Love the atmosphere here, really old pub with lots of history and an open fire. My mother and father in law wanted an authentic English pub and they were not disappointed.
The food is good. The atmosphere is genuine. There are two different dining areas as well as the barroom. There is a large garden area that I assume is open in the summer. The guys who work there are friendly as are the customers.
Lovely pub, wood fire, friendly staff. Always a pleasure to go to.
Great pub with wonderful staff, alongside a quality drinks selection and strong food menu! Would recommend this pub for anyone looking for a traditional pub experience in a lovely Berkshire village.
Lovely and warm good old fashioned pub, this place has special memories for me. Warm log fires Very dog friendly, small menu good choice of beers
Such a beautiful pub, steeped in history. Always such a friendly reception from the staff. Warm and cosy atmosphere with a delicious menu. Definitely worth a visit during any season - with crackling open fires to warm the cockles in the winter months and a courtyard and garden to relax in during the warmer months.
Small but organised village pub with a good cellar serving cracking ales, ciders and lagers plus a limited menu of high end grub. Lovely timber frame building revealing its history all around you e.g. the snug little separate dining area just off the entrance lobby. Two log fires, a beer garden, dog friendly and charming staff. Good walks nearby around Waltham St Lawrence. Highly recommended.
