Exceptional service. Harrison looked after us from the moment we walked in, until we left. He was really caring towards my grandma, making sure she had everything she needed. He could not do enough for us. Beautiful pub, lovely Xmas decorations and fabulous grand Christmas tree. Food was very good and menu was very varied. We did not feel crowded and there were sufficient space between each table. My only suggestion would be for staff to wear masks. I think this would encourage people to visit, particularly the older generation who are more vulnerable. Thank you The Spring Inn for a wonderful Christmas memory.
My son took me for Mother's Day lunch! Everything is lovely! Booked for outside meal as the weather is not permitting they were kind enough for us to have the meal inside. Worth every penny that my son spent for the meal.
Amazing food, amazing staff! We will be back ASAP! Little gem in the countryside. The waiting staff this evening were fabulous, nothing was too much trouble and an absolute credit to The Spring Inn. I needed cheering up and so my friend and I attended for dinner, it was the absolute gin and tonic I needed. Thank you all so much for a fabulous evening.
We had Main course and desert. Battered Codd Fish Fry and Chips were awesome. Desert was delicious. Ambience and interior looks appealing. Plenty of parking space outside the restaurant. Enjoyed the dinner and time spent there.
The Spring Inn is located on the Bath Road just South of Theale at Junction 12 M4. This is a lovely English country pub. The Inn itself is a characterful building. Going in through the main entrance the bar is located to the left. There is seating for food to the left and to the right. There is also upstairs seating. This is a popular venue that serves good wholesome food. There is a lot of seating but then this place gets busy. The menu offers a good selection of dishes and once ordered your food typically arrives in a timely fashion. The food is good quality, I’ve been a few times and not had a bad food experience. The venue itself is bright and lively with a nice relaxed energy. I would take your partner here for a couples or friends dine out experience. During the summer there is plenty of outside seating. On this occasion there was a cricket match on the green opposite the pub giving a true English country rural feel. During the colder months the inside seating is cosy and relaxed and a little escape from the outside world. The staff are polite and friendly with some banter to be had with the bar staff. I had a lager shandy on the day and asked for diet lemonade. No such luck, apparently that is not the done thing! Cocktails and Pimms to be had and look out for the specials. I’ve been to the Spring Inn a few times and I’ll be going back. Definitely recommended. Give it a go and I hope you enjoy.
Food and service was, as usual, great! Highly recommend The Spring Inn for dinner. Can't comment on breakfast or lunch here as I've never been at that time of day. Dinner menu is great and all the food is delicious!
Very pleasant lunchtime eating experience sitting at a table upstairs by the window, looking out onto the outside bathed in Spring sunshine. Very nice light meal of soup of the day and triple cooked chips with a glass of Italian red wine. Very pleasant service, and nice toilets!
The best pub food I've had in ages! Recommend the pie with a side of chips. The gravy is delicious! Loads of gluten free options which is great for our family. Such a good atmosphere with a lot of character. We really enjoyed our family lunch and felt really well looked after by every member of staff that were all so friendly and helpful. Can't wait to go back again soon. Dietary restrictions: Lots of clearly marked gluten free options.
Food lovely although a bit pricey. Good selection of drinks. I thought waitress skirts were very short for that environment
Lovely pub opposite the cricket field on the Bath Road between Reading and Thatcham. The new menu is great and prices are good. Perfect spot for girly catch ups! Save room for dessert.
