Had a lovely meal on Sunday, food was lovely I personally think there should be a few more options for the carvery more veg options, mash potato but again good was lovely. Bar lady was lovely too very accomodating I had a 148mile drive home and my phone was about to die and she happily put it on charge for me! A lovely evening to have a well deserved catch up with the girls before Christmas

Was recommended to visit this place for lunch by one of the locals as we were visiting from London for the weekend and staying up the road. We had sautéed mushrooms starter, beef Wellington and rib eye steak for mains. Absolutely fantastic food, well made, well presented and well eaten. Staff are very friendly and fitted us in without a booking. Would highly recommend this establishment for anyone visiting the area

Lovely food and lovely ambience inside the pub. Rarest of all was good the whole family enjoyed and we could bring our dog as we were out walking. Large garden and seating in the front too with twinkly lights at night which was lovely. Friendly staff, nice place to visit

The Angel hosted the wake for a family funeral and provided a delicious afternoon tea in their private function room. The food and service were very good indeed. They provided vegan options for those guests that required them ordered in advance and if I had to make one suggestion would just say that to label which were the vegan options would be ideal, so that the non vegans didn't eat them all! The tea was really delicious and the pub is an attractive venue in a convenient area. Thank you.

Had a lovely Christmas dinner with three friends. Food was plentiful and hot. Staff friendly and attentive. Only downside was it was chilly although there were fan heaters around. It was during the really cold spell last week. This will not put us off returning and I would recommend The Angel.

I went here for a friend's funeral wake. We had their afternoon tea. It was amazing. Generous portions, really tasty, lots of variety, & all beautifully presented on a wooden board. I would have given a 5 star review for the food. However, we had to increase our number by three which caused them all sorts of bother and, the man serving, wasn't shy in telling us so. He was rude especially considering it was a wake. The food also took about an hour to come to the table which, given that it was the middle of the afternoon, & they weren't busy, was way too long.

Really good food, welcoming environment. Hired a room there for a family function and was very accommodating to our needs. Good value for the money and would definitely recommend! Will be back.

The venue is great,  friendly staff. The portion sizes were good and the desserts were nice. We ordered the roast, which was a huge disappointment.  All 3 types of meats were very dry and over cooked. It's a nice place for a drink or dessert!
