A local pub, have been going here for years. The food is always excellent and there is a choice between traditional English pub food and Indian food, both of which is delicious. One group can order from both menus too so it's very flexible! The owner, Buddy, is very friendly and knows all of his customers by name. The curry here is also available for takeaway or delivery so there are plenty of options! I would recommend trying this pub if you are in the area.
We order from here regularly, the food is usually very good and we enjoy it, however the issue I do have is that everytime they deliver they never have my change, they either always forget the drink with the order or if they do bring one it's never the right one and I paid almost £4 for a bottle of drink and got the wrong size. The food itself is lovely but the service is appalling
We had a buffet meal for 45 at the Hatchgate Inn to celebrate my husband’s birthday. The whole process was made easy by the owner who was accommodating to all of our requests, the staff were helpful and friendly and just about every guest got back to me to say how delicious the food was. The bar was well stocked and the drinks flowed all night. I would highly recommend. Thank you to all of you
Made very welcome by all staff. Shown to table of our choice by very attentive publican/entrepreneur, we were helped to find the type of Indian food dishes we would like from a very extensive menu. The meals were very enjoyable and suited our needs to the hilt . We will most definitely be visiting again and taking family and friends. Thank You.
Great country pub good food and friendly.
Food was nicely cooked and delicious. Had paneer tikka massala, chicken tikka biryani, and chicken tikka pathia and all very tasty. ThanksFood: 5/5
Wonderful and delicious array of Indian dishes... Am told they also serve a range of more traditional British pub food, but I was too distracted by the wonderful aromas emanating from the kitchen to even consider anything other than the Indian cuisine. Totally yummy
The positives were the staff were nice and friendly and food was served quickly. The food however was one of the worst Indian meals I've had. It was absolutely flavourless and very watery sauce, the chicken was very dry and over cooked and the curry was just very weak and flavourless and more like a casserole than a curry. My partner had a dish with a fair bit of heat to it which was good but there was very little flavour to it beyond just heat yet again. The rice was fine but nothing to shout home about, very small naan bread and smothered in ghee rather than cooked in it so had an unpleasant texture. I wouldn't go back, it just felt very much like a standard English pub decided to chuck an Indian resturaunt on the side rather than having property authentic food.
Fantastic food. Service was impeccable. Extremely polite, friendly and helpful staff. I would definitely recommend a visit here.
Charming and very friendly country pub. Buddy, the landlord, serves Indian cuisine in a restaurant on one side of the pub and contemporary English cuisine on the other. The central bar area remains as a pub and the regulars provide a warm welcome. Cosy in winter when the log burner is on. Occasionally they host music evenings including some rather good Elvis acts. Would highly recommend a visit.
