We had a fantastic experience at this location, thanks largely to Melicio. He went above and beyond to assist us with our shopping, where we were confused, handling it with both patience and expertise. His helpful attitude made a significant difference.
Ordered a few times through ubereats and they have always been sent expiring fruits and vegetables. They would pick the ones expiring the next day while you pay full price and something extra. Horrible!
A good selection of food and drink and some limited homeware. A lot better selection of goods when compared to the store in Whetstone which is ok but is limited by a smaller size. The best quality supermarket on the high street bar Wholefoods but they are as frequent as hens teeth.
I’ve visited quite a few Waitrose supermarkets across the UK, especially in London, but the one in North Finchley truly stands out. It has such a wide variety of products and a really friendly atmosphere that makes shopping enjoyable. The shelves are always well-stocked, and even if something is unavailable, it comes back quickly.nnThe store is also very accessible – there’s easy access for disabled customers, shelves are designed to be within reach, and the staff are always around and happy to help. Free parking for an hour and a half is a big plus, and there’s even a toilet in-store, which can be really convenient.nnI particularly like the way the store is laid out – the displays are inviting and make you feel inspired to cook. The free Waitrose magazine is also a highlight, full of seasonal recipes and great ideas.nnOn the membership side, I do feel a bit disappointed. Years ago, there were better rewards, like 20% off and a free newspaper, which long-term customers like myself really appreciated. Now the discounts are very small, which feels a little unfair after so many years of loyalty. That said, the free coffee with a reusable cup is a nice touch.nnAnother downside is that there seem to be fewer tills now and more self-service checkouts, which takes away some of the human, face-to-face interaction that makes shopping here special.nnWhat makes this branch stand out, though, is the people – the staff are always polite, friendly, and welcoming, especially at the tills. Overall, shopping here is a genuinely pleasant experience, far better than in other Waitrose stores I’ve visited.
DON’T BUY LOTTERY TICKETS OR SCRATCH CARDS HEREnI bought and won on a scratch card from here but their machine often fails to work so I couldn’t get my money. I knew though that as they had scanned my ticket that it was registered as paid as this had happened here before.,nUpon going back with my scratch card it sure enough said it had been claimed. I stated that I had informed the staff at the time but the duty manager was very rude and refused to give me the £5 that I had won.nI’m sure John Lewis could afford to part with the £5 and claim it back from National lottery when they investigated this.,nHe was horrible and said I had to call the national lottery.,nI won’t be returning,
