Standard - good Morrisons. You can enter through the underground parking area as a pedestrian and I chose to do this.nnI bought some special edition Halloween pringles which were a nice change as well as a birthday card for a friend.nnI appreciated the range of items available close to the till. I would characterise this as being similar to the 'middle of Lidl' although this may not be appreciated by Morrisons due to the proximity of this store to the Lidl which is in the same shopping centre.
Misleading “3 for £10” offer — feels like deliberate deceptionnnI’ve had problems three different times with the “3 for £10 Mix & Match Meat & Seafood” offer at Morrisons Holloway.nnThe first time, I picked one frozen item, one salmon, and one meat item — but the cashier said it didn’t qualify because they belonged to three different “3 for £10” groups.nnThe second time, I checked the label carefully. It clearly said Meat & Seafood, so logically both should be included in the same offer. I chose one fish and two meats — all under that same sign — but was told again it didn’t count.nnThe third time, I even picked three packs of meat from the exact same shelf, all marked under “3 for £10”, and yet was told one of them wasn’t included.nnThis is completely misleading. As a customer acting in good faith, I followed the signs exactly as displayed. How can a store expect people to trust its pricing if the labels are unclear — or worse, if this confusion is intentional?nnI wasted over 20 minutes trying to make a simple purchase, and it makes me wonder how many other customers have overpaid because of such unclear or deceptive labelling. This is unacceptable for a company of this size. Rude Staff and unable to help!
Price offers constantly wrong, or out of date. I am sick and tired of this Morrisons displaying the wrong prices, you only find this out when you reach the checkouts. Today, I picked up a bottle of Old Speckled Hen beer - 'more card' price £1, and 2 bottles of Hobgoblin Gold - 'more card' price 2 for £2.50. But at the till all 3 bottles came up £2.50 each, even when using the 'more card'.nThe self service tills state that 'more card discounts' will be applied on payment, but this was not the case and I had to get the items refunded at customer services. Afterwards I went back to the aisles to take pictures of these supposed offers.nThis problem with wrong pricing happens far too often at this store, and often I only find out that when I get home. Another problem is that you often find a stand-alone display stating 'special offer' but nowhere is the price to be seen, I have learned to ignore such displays as its often a cheat.
I had a strange experience at the self-checkout today while trying to buy an umbrella. I was about to pay for it but I asked if I could quickly open it to make sure it worked properly, but the lady at the till said I couldn’t because it would make the item unsaleable.nnThat didn’t really make sense to me - most people just want to check that what they’re buying isn’t faulty. Practically speaking, I think it’s better to let customers do a quick check than deal with returns later. It’s a small thing that builds trust and saves everyone time.nnOf course I ended up buying the umbrella anyway, though I wasn’t completely comfortable about it. A member of security overheard this weird convo with the staff and kindly said I could just return it if I'm not happy, which I really appreciated.
Been coming here for years but every time I go in there are products in the wrong place, shelves mislabelled or not scanning through as the right price. I usually have to end up getting a member of staff to cancel incorrectly priced items or pay more than I intended.nnOn the plus side they have a good selection of products, always quite clean inside and strong air conditioning.
