I have never experienced such poor customer service as I did with HELAL at Sainsbury’s. From the very first interaction, the service was unprofessional and dismissive. We attempted to get his attention multiple times for assistance, and although he made direct eye contact with us, he chose to ignore us and continue chatting instead of helping. It was only after calling him over a third time that he reluctantly approached us, and even then, his attitude was openly hostile and unwelcoming.nnThe situation escalated when he refused to sell us a U16 item despite the fact that two members of our group had valid ID and everyone present was clearly over 20 years old. We understand that store policies must be followed and we are familiar with challenge policies, however, the refusal felt less about policy and more about personal irritation at being called over to do his job.nnWhen we explained to a manager the situation, the manager agreed that we were compliant with the policy and told us we can get our item, yet HELAL showed no professionalism or empathy and still denied us.nnCustomer service should be built on professionalism, clear communication, and basic courtesy. Unfortunately, this interaction reflected none of those qualities. Based on this experience, I am extremely disappointed and would rate the service 0 if that were possible. I hope this feedback is taken seriously, as no customer should feel dismissed or treated with such disregard.
HELAL delivered outrageous service in store. Me being a 25 year old was told by him that he cannot sell redbull. I understand policy as i too have worked in retail previously. Rather than focusing on ‘think 21’ colleagues like HELAL should obtain intensive training on ‘ how to speak to customers and make sensible decisions’. We need less people in stores like HELAL. FIRE HIM.
The Christmas experience in this store was phenomenal. I love shopping here to get what I want.
I’ve never received more horrible service from anywhere as I have from HELAL in Sainsbury’s. From the first interaction with him he ignored our call for help because he would rather be chatting away and looked at us straight in the eyes yet ignored us . When we then called him over a third time he came with attitude and refused us a sale of an item which is U16 which 2 of us had ID and all of us were over 20 clearly. We are familiar with policy but this was quite blatantly done out of pettiness because we had called him over to do his job and when we asked for an explanation for refusal he proceeded to say “do your policy training” which is extremely rude. When we said we would need to speak to a manager and take this forward he showed no empathy at all and continued to snigger in our faces. He needs to rethink his mannerism towards customers and honestly I would give him a 0 rating if I could. Stay away from HELAL.
Parking is really narrow and the crowd is a bit on the rough side. Really large store and it should be better than it is, maybe it’s the weird layout maybe it’s the people but did not feel comfortable. Sorry but it’s what I experienced, your mileage should hopefully be better.
