I stayed for one night and am overall happy with the stay. The staff where friendly and helpful. The room was clean. With fresh towels in the bathroom. The room was a good size and the location of the hotel is very good. Not far from all the major attractions of the city. The bed was not the best. Not overly comfortable and a little small as it was a single bed. Overall for a night in a good location for not a lot of money then this is a good option.
For the price you really can not complain. Very basic rooms but clean and that's the most important. Shower door would not shut properly and room could do with a lick of paint but for the price it's worth it. If staying for longer than one night would want to stay somewhere else.Rooms: 4/5
Budget hotel Pros - staff extremely helpful and very friendly. The room was a good size and bathroom clean, fresh with fluffy towels Cons - walls paper thin you hear everyone returning late at night. Would have expected there to be signs or staff member reminding people to respect other guests. The room was freezing and air conditioning only came on when you inserted your room card and although on high setting after two hours, the room never warned up until I left my hairdryer on. The bed was rock hard and very uncomfortable. The bed was pushed against the wall, so if 2 people were in room, the second person unable to get out unless they climbed over the other person Rooms: Get a room as far away from lifts if you want any sleep
Fantastic hotel in a superb location. We were given a Buy a Gift voucher for Christmas and used it here. I'm so glad we did! The hotel is easy to find and in such a great spot, the street is really quiet at night but within two minutes you're right at the heart of the city during the day, or 5 mins away from the docklands. We loved being able to people watch and staff were so friendly throughout our stay. Rooms: Room was clean and smart. Walkability: Within walking distance of all city centre sights/activities. Food & drinks: No kettle in room, but hot drinks and snacks are available at reception.
Staff were lovely & friendly. Great location! The pictures of the rooms look much better than they are in real life. Our first room didn't have a window & was stinking from the toilet drains but they changed us as soon as we said to them. The bed & pillows weren't comfy at all & room was freezing at night!
We agree with the person who sad run don’t walk from this hotel. Very uncomfortable beds, the windows aren’t isolated, which means noise from the street and a cold room in the winter months, no hot air from the air conditioning, dirty duvet cover, cloak smell in the bathroom, and no room service. Staff were friendly enough, but didn’t do their job. We booked this hotel because of its 24-hours reception since we were leaving in the middle of the night. Since we were leaving at 03:45 in the morning we booked a taxi to the airport through the hotel. This taxi was booked on the first day out of our two nights stay. The day after we checked with the hotel again that our taxi was booked, which they confirmed. We therefore had no reason whatsoever to doubt them. They told us to be at the reception area 5 minutes before our taxi’s arrival, which we were. Despite having booked a taxi AND double-checked with the reception the day after, our taxi never arrived…..and the 24-hour reception was empty. We needed a taxi or else we would be late for our flight. We waited 10-15 minutes for the taxi before heading towards the roads to try find one….not an easy task in the middle of the night. We thankfully ended up finding one half an hour later due to a very sweet taxi driver, and therefore didn’t arrive too late at the airport. We ONLY recommend this hotel for its location.
Great location and awedone value. Friendly receptionist on duty and very welcoming, informative and helpful. Bright room clean. Quite a big hotel spread over several floors. I had a top floor it was quiet : Comfortable bed eith towels and soap provided. : Def return here.Rooms: 4/5
The only good thing about this hotel, unfortunately is the location. The staff were friendly, but everything else was, to put it bluntly, terrible. The room was quite horrible in all honesty. For 35£ a night for 2 you can’t expect much, but it was shocking. More of a hostel. Labyrinth inside the hotel, noisy corridors, dirty. Room was very small and hot due to no aircon working. Tea and coffee were extra charges. Room was practically falling apart . Such a shame really. Didn’t feel that safe.
I was concerned looking at some of the reviews but a great hotel for the price I paid. The only advice would be to maybe have a sign in hallways to keep conversations quiet. It can be quite noisy but nothing some headphones don't sort at night. Great location too!
Only getting 2 stars for the price, the location and the staff! Loses 3 stars because I didn’t sleep a wink. The location and staff of the hotel are brilliant. The staff are friendly and can’t do enough for you. Hotel is in a great location for sight seeing and pubs/restaurants. But the rooms are abysmal. Beds are absolutely shocking. Paint coming off the walls, windows that let all the cold air and the noise from the seagulls and the kegs being delivered at 7am. I know it’s a listed building but try harder!
