The hotel was amazing, down to the location, the amenities and the service. It’s tucked in the corner of a whole stretch of shopping so you feel like you’re in the middle of it all but still have a lovely place to rest. The buses and tubes are all near by so public travel is convenient. But what really brings Thistle to the next level was the level of friendliness and the quality of service here! I feel like every staff has greeted me and they go out of their way to make sure that we weren’t left wanting! On the first day, during the breakfast buffet Amanda impressed us so much by taking care of us and giving up tips! Well done, Thistle! Definitely need to plan a second trip back!
The hotel is very comfortable, the rooms are spacious and clean, and the view is wonderful on Oxford Street. I would like to thank Elena at the reception for the effort she made in trying to find a room that matches our request. She is also professional and strives to please the guests.Rooms: 3/5
This is our second time here and our stay did not disappoint. Good service, very comfy and clean room. Great breakfasts. We dined in one evening and whilst the menu was quite limited Italian the food was very good. Lifts can get busy and you may wait a while...but it's a big hotel.Rooms: 5/5
The photos do not accurately represent the room, and there were various sounds that made it difficult for me to sleep well. The room service lady was very nice, but my overall experience at the hotel was poor, and I will not be returning. When the room service lady knocked, I told her that I would be leaving at 2 PM. She didn't inform me to check with the receptionist; she simply indicated that a late checkout was fine. Later, however, the receptionist asked me to pay for the late checkout, which was quite frustrating.
I recently stayed at Thistle Hotel, and my experience was made truly memorable by Ms. Alina at the reception. From the moment we arrived, she greeted us with the warmest smile and a genuine enthusiasm that instantly made us feel at home. Her professionalism was impeccable, but it was her kindness and willingness to go above and beyond that truly stood out. No request was too big or too small for her; she handled everything with grace and efficiency. Whether it was offering local tips, assisting with our luggage, or ensuring that all our needs were met, she did it all with a level of care that is rare to find. Her positive energy was infectious, and it made our stay even more enjoyable. Ms Alina is a true asset to the hotel, and we are so grateful for all her help. She made our trip unforgettable, and we can’t wait to return!
Perfect location and convenience with public transport- KPI of this property. Restaurant is good to have drinks and food. Staffs are real gem here in this hotel, I met Euganif I correctly spell the name who is from Romania working for this hotel assisted and guided us for cab and helped during transit, a praise for him, very gentle guy and supportive. Breakfast was superb. Anyone can prefer this hotel anytime without second thought.
Hotel Review: Great Location but Disappointing Stay The hotel's primary advantage is its location—perfect for anyone looking to be in the heart of the city. However, that's where most of the positives end. The rooms are incredibly small and in dire need of maintenance. I had three rooms during my stay, and every single one had issues, from broken fixtures to faulty amenities. Housekeeping was prompt, and the rooms, including the bathrooms, were clean, which is appreciated. However, they regularly missed basic amenities like water or coffeeor other in room amenities, which added to the frustration. Getting in touch with reception or the operator was nearly impossible by phone, which made resolving issues even more difficult. To top it off, the smoking area right by the main entrance makes the hotel feel more like a crowded pub than a relaxing stay. The smoke-filled air as you walk in is not welcoming and detracts from the overall experience. Overall, while the location is great, the hotel falls short in other important areas, and I would not recommend it unless you're willing to compromise on comfort for convenience.

great location, but questionable hotel, at times. it's listed as a 4-star hotel, but it is far from it. PROS 1. great location near multiple bus and tube lines, shopping areas, and other tourist attractions. 2. air conditioning in rooms we stayed in the summer 3. mini fridge with complimentary soft drinks, bottled water, and a bag of popcorn. 4. they offered us complimentary breakfast buffet for our 2 night stay 5. if you opt out of housekeeping, you'll receive a £10 voucher to use at their deli. CONS 1. very busy hotel, always crowded in public areas. only 3 working elevators out of 4, which were very slow even at 1am when nobody else was taking the elevator. we left our luggage with the concierge for less than an hour after checking out and it was very chaotic - so much that they asked us to go into the luggage room with them to find and identify our bags. 2. room is outdated. finishes are worn and chipping. sink faucet was corroding. there was tape on the wooden panel behind the TV, not sure why - didn't look like it was holding anything together. 3. room wasn't properly cleaned - there was a mcdonald's lid on the floor, mysterious stains on the bed runner, and was generally dusty. dirty towel with huge red stains. 4. no hand soap for sink and no toiletries besides the shampoo/body wash refillable pumps in the shower. however, they did bring us bar soap and small shampoo bottles when we requested it. also gave us more bottled water without us asking. 5. questionable security. at 9:20am, someone opened our hotel door without knocking or announcing themselves, despite having our "DO NOT DISTURB" light on and a sign on our door refusing housekeeping. they were not doing housekeeping at that time, so we don't know who tried to enter our room. they quickly said "sorry" and left - we didn't catch a glimpse of who it was. very strange and sketchy.
Mold in room, roaches in rooms. Maid service is crap. Front desk is so rude and unhelpful. Breakfast food was not worth the price and the exact same fake eggs and fair every single day. They leave your windows open when it’s freezing. The escalator has been broken for at least a week. I had an early arrival so I booked the day before. They charged me a no show fee of 200 pounds. I hope it was worth it. My team canceled for next week so yall just lost about 7500.
