After reading some reviews we were a little worried about what we were letting ourselves in for but infact it wasn't that bad at all! Yes there are things that definitely need improving but would we stay again? Yes! But probably 2 nights max! Pros - LOCATION! a 5min walk from Hyde Park, Oxford Street round corner, half hour walk to Buckingham Palace etc.. Price - for the location and size of rooms it is cheap! It was actually quiet at night and I had a decent night's sleep The staff were friendly and polite Cons - It needed a REALLY DEEP CLEAN - didn't even attempt to use shower as you'd probably come out dirtier! The kettle was unusable as it absolutely stunk and there were no plug sockets by the table. Plug sockets are limited, and the TV didn't work. The door locks are dodgy and one of the rooms we had room 14 in the basement! when we got there the door was open so having read reviews we attempted to shut it and managed to get it locked but then couldn't unlock it! We did speak to reception the next day and they went down and sorted it but it still didn't feel safe to use. Luckily we had 2 rooms between us so I stayed in there instead
A very cozy budget-friendly hotel in the heart of Great Cumberland Place. It’s also conveniently located near cafes, convenient stores, and the Marble Arch station. Highly recommended!
Looks like something from a horror film. Room was clean. But the tea cups provided hadn’t been cleaned. There was still some sort of drink in it. Kettle, was broken. shower and toilet was clean but the bathroom smelt like mould. The best thing about this stay was how comfy the bed and the duvet was. Ceiling fan didn’t work, but they had provided an alternative fan.
So i booked this before reading the reviews, then i read them and was quite worried to be honest I booked a room for 1 adult 3 children for the weekend as we were doing 2 nights in Hyde park First impressions wernt great , it is an old hotel ,very basic, it's not 5 star , but given the price this isn't something we were expecting ! The staff were friendly and helpful, the beds were extremely comfty , the room wasn't the cleanest but this wasn't really an issue as was just a base to sleep, the hotel was quiet of a night no issues , it has 24 hour front desk ! It's a 5 min walk to hyde park , 22min walk to Buckingham Palace All shops on Oxford street are at top of road 5 mins away All in all a really good price for central London close to everything , definitely book again for a few nights if we were going back to hyde park
What a horrible dump. The rooms are dirty, stains on the carpet, lock on the door broken. Leaking radiator so carpet wet and smelling of damp. Mould around the windows. Dirty curtains. The list goes on and on. Disgusting it should be shut down. Would give this hotel no stars
Rooms are not clean and there was mould on bath raws in the bath tub. Very nice location walking distance to marble arch, oxfrd. Street etc but a significant innovation is required.Rooms: 1/5
Very close to the train station. The hosts were excellent and very thoughtful, letting us leave our bags in the lobby after we had checked out. Very good price for clean safe rooms. Would go there again!!!
I had one night on my own. . Good location. Hotel had a lift as o was on 3td floor. Nice room. Bed with 3 pillows, tea, coffee, in room, tv , hair dryer , shower hot , toilet had a step so had yo be careful. Wash basin had soap which was empty., hand rail in bathroom was not good. Invent a hand towel and the rail fell down. 4 towels in the room.heater . I enjoyed my stay. Didvnot have breakfast went out instead very good value for money. Rooms: Good.
Stayed at end of June. Staff were fabulous, excellent service and hospitality, especially the chambermaid, Rubina. So helpful everyone. However, the hotel is very tired looking, the room was as clean as the staff could keep it but facilities were very poor. We were reluctant to use the shower due its poor quality. Hotel definitely needs a revamp as the staff were so willing so that let it down. Nearby activities: Hyde Park, eating establishments, bars etc Walkability: Very central to places we wanted to visit
Just spent two night in this place. Our room was filthy, walls were all stained. Mould in the bath tub; a total health hazard. The hotel is a dump at best. Our shower was not worth having, did not feel my belongings were safe in my room. Worst experience I have had for a long time. Why they have not been closed down is beyond me. Don't go ever.
