We recently had the pleasure of visiting Theatre Royal Drury Lane to see the brilliant Michael McIntyre, and let me tell you, he did not disappoint at all as expected. His quick wit and effortless charm had the entire audience in stitches. It is like his brain runs on comedy Wi-Fi always connected, never buffering. Feeling like I am writing review for Michael McIntyre . But he was the reason why we got a chance to visit this beautiful building.nnBeyond all the laughs induced by Mr. McIntyre, the theatre itself was a showstopper. Walking in felt like stepping into a living museum, ornate ceilings, grand staircases, and that old-world charm you just can not fake. And yet, somehow, it is all seamlessly blended with modern comforts.nnThink: 18th-century elegance meets 21st-century convenience.nnIt is rare to find a venue that makes you laugh till your cheeks hurt and makes you pause to admire the architecture. A true gem. If you are in the UK and have not been inside yet, go. Even if you do not catch a show, the building alone is worth the standing ovation. Enjoy few random pictures took while sitting on the first row.
This was a stunning theatre, well preserved design, spacious seats especially by an old theatre standard. The staff were absolutly amazing as well. I needed some mobility assistance on the day and there was ramps, spacious lift, accessible toilets, and the support from staff to help with drinks through the show was amazing.
The theatre itself is an amazing place. I saw Charlie & the Chocolate Factory, Frozen and yesterday Hercules.nnThe theatre is authentic, beautiful, the main room is impressive too. Seats are a bit small and not the most comfortable so not the ideal for long shows. But overall it's okay! I like to sit in a balcony as the view is very good. I sat in front of the scene once and don't recommend as the scene is very high.nnToilets can be very far away and it's easy to get lost but it's big, almost no queue and clean. Better than most theatre in London!nnThe staff inside is really nice and friendly but some improvements could be made with the security.
This is a phenomenal theater. I just came back from Hercules, the Disney production, and I'm absolutely happy about my seat. I had E19. It was up in the balcony. It's the highest area you can get a ticket, and it was an exceptional price. I had such a good view. I was so impressed about the production itself. It was absolutely amazing, and the cast was phenomenal. The power of voices was something else. I had chills the whole time, and even my inner child was happy because I got a mint chocolate ice cream in the break between. If you want to see a musical that makes your heart happy, then Disney's Hercules is absolutely the right one for you.
Located near the Covent Garden Tube station. An easy walk to get here. You are allowed to gain entry an hour before the show. I came to see the Hercules musical and was allowed in at 13:30. There are attendants outside that will check your bags and scan your tickets.nnThere is a gift shop inside for the musical but it is very small and got crowded quite quickly. And there are attendants throughout the premises that sell other items like Musical brochures, teddy bear and cups.nnMy seat was Stalls D26, situated in the middle and four rows from the front of the stage. It was a great location and good distance from the stage, I was able to hear and see everything clearly. Seats were comfortable too and if you had children with you, you also had a seat booster to give them as well so that they can see better.nnAt half time they provided various ice creams for you to purchase. It is a beautiful theatre and I would come again in future. A great experience.
