It was my first time at this theatre, and it was modern and relatively small. During the intermission, the staff at the bar were very friendly and helpful.nnTo be honest, my only disappointment wasn’t with the theatre itself but with the audience. Although it was a contemporary ballet performance, I was quite surprised by how casually most people were dressed. Perhaps it’s because the venue is more modern?nnAt most of the ballet performances I’ve attended before, the audience usually dressed quite formally — some men even wore suits with flowers in their breast pockets — but this one was very different.nnAnyway, there’s a bus stop right in front of the theatre, so transport is convenient, but after the show it felt a bit isolated for catching a taxi, so I’d recommend booking an Uber in advance.
On Friday 26th Sept I was taken to see Marc Brew / Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui’s moving shownAn Accident / A Life by my dear friend Lucy as a Birthday treat at Sadlers Wells East - The show was absolutely incredible - Marc Brew is beyond extraordinary as a dancer / actor sharing his story it’s such moving and thought provoking evening - But what made the evening even more special was we chose to eat at the Theatre at the last minute which turned out to be the best thing and there we greeted by this kind, opened faced, joyous human being Simeon Hurley he is /was a true breath of fresh air as far as a supervisor, waiter and customer care person goes these days - He sets the bar incredibly high in fact extremely high - His smile and being is enough, But he genuinely cares that you have the best time and he makes sure you have everything we both kept saying what an incredible young man he is. So I highly recommend the Fish and Chips and most definitely asked to be served by Simeon he will genuinely make you feel so special and will most certainly make you smile and make your evening even more special like he did ours - He’s an absolute asset to The Restaurant at Sadlers Wells East - Thank you so much Simeon - Jonny and Lucy
I went to see the Black Sabbath Ballet and was sat in the top tier, which offered excellent views of the stage. Really good sound and very comfortable seats. Ample bars and toilets, lots of space to hang around, good location and nice staff.
I had a fantastic experience here watching The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe which exceeded my expectations! I sat in the second circle; To be precise, I sat in seat N30 which is a single seat, distinct from the others, on the left side of the circle. When booking my ticket online, I was cautioned that this seat had a restricted view but this was not the case at all. In fact, I had a brilliant view of the stage despite being so high up. On top of this, I had plenty of leg room as well as additional room to place my belongings. If you are planning on visiting alone then I would definitely recommend considering sitting here.
I went there to watch The Lion, the witch and the wardrobe. I sat on K2 and I could clearly watch it even if it's a bit far. Very good seat and affordable. Actually the play was a bit boring because some parts took too much time. Another thing was Aslan didn't look fluffy and powerful and the actor embodies Aslan. This didn't made me feel much into the show but everyone's performance, sounds and light was superb.
