We stayed here for 4 nights. It’s a nice hotel with friendly staff. Our room was clean, and on the small side of the spectrum which was fine for us! The breakfast was good but a little on the pricey side for what you can get for a few minute walk to some great restaurants. It’s definitely located properly, close to the underground and walking distance for those willing to walk to most things. I would stay here again no problem.
I’ve stayed here five times already basically every single time I’ve been to London. The hotel is far better than the average 3-star hotel in most European or North American cities. The rooms are very clean, housekeeping is exceptionally diligent and even undergoes a “quality check” every day. When you ask them for a fridge or anything else within their means, it arrives in a matter of minutes. The front desk staff are so incredibly efficient and hard-working. There is something about the lobby’s atmosphere that transports me back in time and in a good way. The hotel’s location is superb, walking distance to Piccadilly and many other hot spots.
Great location. Helpful staff, good sized rooms which were serviced daily. Shower very powerful and additional option of a bath Strange that there was no hand washing facilities in toilet? Breakfast was good with plenty choice and again attentive staff. We ate in the bar a couple of times, food was good but took much longer one night than the other, didn’t appear to be that busy, also only 3 copies of the menu available! Overall would recommend and would stay again
Pleasant albeit small room, well located seconds from Russell Square. Well priced, clean and friendly staff. The room was very hot and no way to turn off the radiator but windows open a decent amount so it is not too bad. The breakfast was very decent with a good selection. Beds not the most comfortable.
We stayed here for 4 nights just before the Platinum Jubilee. It's a pretty good option if you are on a budget. Breakfast was good, we had one but explored the area for other places to try. Rooms are small, not unusual for London, and the beds were a 3/5 on the comfort scale. Still, the staff were pleasant and you can't beat the location. A one minute walk to the Russell Square tube station.
This is the first time I used this hotel. The good thing about is the location, most of it is in walking distance and a good connection with the underground. But do have to be honest as well. The beds are hard as hell. I have already back problems and their beds made it even harder for me. It felt like I was sleeping on the floor. They are super hard. Also twice the housekeeping forgot to refill the coffee and tea. It is a uncomfortable situation. Hope that they can do some upgrades.
Straight forward to check in. Reception staff were very friendly, polite and helpful. Room was functional and importantly the single bed was comfortable and long enough to accommodate my long limbs. Floor 7 is one floor above where the lift finishes and so a climb up a flight of stairs is required. Room was really warm when I first entered it but as the evening passed it cooled down and became pleasant. Rooms would benefit from air conditioning. Breakfast was fine and for self service there was plenty of choice. Checkout also straightforward and the store room available to store luggage in for later collection was effectively organised by a friendly and polite staff member. Collection of the luggage following the meeting was again easy to do.
The hotel should be call the “Polite and smiling people”, everybody is super kind and understanding. The room is clean and comfortable. The bed is perfect. The breakfast are abundant to the point that we only had two meals a day. I highly recommend the President Hotel.
We chose the hotel because of its location. It's close to the Russell Square station. There are various restaurants and pubs close by. Staff is friendly and try to be helpful. The only two negatives: There's limited outlets! I understand it's an old building but if they can put MANY outlets in the hallway...why can't they add more in the rooms. The room was HOT, HOT, HOT!!! They are not able to turn down the heater. We were only able to open 3 of 4 windows. It was hard sleeping at night. Because we had the windows open, it was more noisy. After complaining the first two days, they finally gave us a fan. We had another 4-day reservation for late October but we cancelled it and got another hotel.
Good budget hotel option in a great location. Bathrooms tired, no aircon and corridors in particular were very hot and smelt musty. Bed comfy and room clean with tea and coffee provided. Breakfast for just £15. Catered for vegans and gluten free too. Excellent. Restaurant staff were excellent- friendly and helpful. Apart from one young man the staff on reception were less helpful and one lady was rude when our key stopped working, during checkout and on collecting our cases.
