A popular budget-friendly option, offering a central location near major attractions and excellent public transport links. While its size ensures availability, the facilities and service can feel impersonal at times. The rooms are basic but clean, and the breakfast, though sufficient, is often busy due to the hotel’s large number of guests. For those seeking affordability and convenience over luxury, it’s a practical choice. However, improvements in modern amenities and customer service would enhance the overall experience. Perfect for short stays or travelers focused on exploring the city rather than spending time in the hotel.
Before checking in, I was feeling unwell and asked for help, and the staff arranged for an ambulance and took care of the paperwork for me as I was unable to move. They were always by my side and cared for me. It was very reassuring. In particular, staff member Japanese staff translated for me as I didn't understand English, which really made me feel at ease. The room was very clean. There was probably no air conditioning, but it wasn't cold. There is no refrigerator, so be careful when buying cold foods. It is very close to the Piccadilly Line station, so it is easy to get to from the airport. Kings Cross Station and other stations are also within walking distance. I have now returned to Japan safely and can go home. I am truly sorry for the inconvenience. Thank you very much.
The location is very convenient, located in a beautiful, silent and calm square and very close to public transportation. The liquid soap, shampoo and conditioner provided are very good. The room had everything to prepare a tea or a coffee, including a water boiler. In the in the room there is a small safebox. We left our bags in the luggage room on the day of checkout, not bad experience. Food & drinks: The breakfast options are great, love that the pastries are freshly baked and hot.
Great location. Room for 3 spacious, clean and beds comfy. Breakfast plenty of choice and good quality. Can get busy. We were seated quickly and everything buffet style. Had drinks in bar opposite which was really convenient! Easy to get to from London Euston. Was noisy outside as we were on first floor on the main road but we all slept ok. Would recommend. Grab rail in shower could be better placed as not easy to use when getting in and out of shower. Rooms: Clean and comfy. Has all you need WiFi, charging points, hairdryer etc. Nearby activities: We used bar opposite for drinks and snacks when we arrived at 21.00 hours. We went to theatre which was within easy reach. Tube close by. We went by tube to Langham hotel for afternoon tea. Shops close by. Walkability: Within walking distance to tube and attractions. I have mobility issues but found taxis easy to find. Food & drinks: We stayed 2 nights. Breakfast gets busy. We were seated quickly. Plenty of choice both warm and cold. Buffet style - help yourself. food good quality and choice of drinks - hot and cold. Noteworthy details: Would recommend but can be noisy if road side.
We stayed for three nights in one of the standard plus double rooms during our trip in October. The room was clean and we thought it was spacious, perfect for what we needed. The room did get hot, thankfully we could open the window and there was a fan provided. The location of the hotel is one of the best things about it. It's within walking distance of everything you need including food and all public transport options that can take you to any side of the city. The hotel staff we friendly and helpful upon check-in and allowed us to sort our bags while we explored after check-out. I would highly recommend to stay here, especially those staying in London for the first time as it's easy to navigate. Rooms: We were suprised that the room was quiet. Once we headed to sleep, we didn't hear any other guests nosies or street noise from our room. The bedding wss comfortable, we had the best sleeps.
Pro: Excellent location. Super access to all forms of transportation, many cafes, restaurants and shopping near by. Rooms were clean. Great price but you get what you paid for. Con: We had two rooms for 5 days, each only serviced/cleaned one time. Twice the house keeping staff said they were sorry they just ran out of time. Twice we ran out of toilet paper. Once I took it from a housekeeping cart myself the second time it took the front desk 40 minutes to bring one up. Smoking section is right in front of the hotel. It will be the first thing you smell when you approach or leave. Rooms are very warm, but the windows crack open which helps. The room that faces the street is noisy so if this a problem for you ask the front desk for a different location. Door paneling lipstick on a pig on the room door is peeling off. Budget mattresses, not the best or worse. It’s a very transactional hotel, if saving $ is your big thing this hotel works, for us, we will spend the extra money to stay elsewhere.
I was completely satisfied with my stay! The twin room was spacious and very clean, as was the bathroom – absolutely spotless. I was particularly impressed with the breakfast: it was plentiful, delicious, and there were no waiting times. The staff was also very friendly and welcoming. The hotel offers excellent value for money, everything was just perfect. I will definitely be back! Rooms: The rooms have everything you need, the bathroom was very, very clean, and the staff cleaned the rooms daily and kept them in perfect condition. The room had a USB-C outlet for each person to charge modern smartphones or other electronic devices. This way, as a tourist, you don't need an adapter for the British sockets Nearby activities: Right at the hotel entrance are the bus stops for a Harry Potter Studio tour. This was absolutely perfect, especially since we didn’t have to walk a long distance.
For a 3* hotel in the middle of London - this is exactly what you expect. You can't really complain as it is not marketed as a luxury hotel. There are definitely pros and cons to staying here. The hotel is quite close to Euston station which is handy. The rooms are very basic but are clean and are cleaned daily. Shower gel and shampoo is provided. Conditioner and body lotion is not. There is also a hairdryer. The size of the rooms are quite small but for most people, when you are in London, you don't really spend much time in the room. Breakfast can get extremely busy from 8am and you need to wait in line to even get a table. If you go around 7am, it is quite empty and is much calmer. The options are quite good - English breakfast, breads, cereals, porridge, juice, coffee, etc.
I recently stayed at the Royal National Hotel and it was a great experience. Our room was surprisingly small but comfortable nonetheless. Staff on the floor, were attentive and responsive to us. The concierge staff on the first floors were all VERY helpful and friendly. Some of the staff went the extra mile , like Don who was extremely helpful, friendly kind and sensitive to our needs from start to the end. Others such as Chuks, Joseph, Norman to name a few all contributed to make the trip fun and safe. Would stay there again . Nearby activities: Because of its location , it was very convenient to get to places we wanted to go to in nearby boroughs. Safety: We felt very safe there day and night. Walkability: It was conveniently close to shopping ,area, restaurants, souvenir shops , tube station . Location was top notch.
Rooms are small by American standards. Clean rooms and bath. Beds are comfortable. No AC and windows only open about 3 inches; stuffy all night since no cross ventilation. Stayed October 6-9 with temps at 55f. No exhaust fan in the toilet which is typical for Europe. Shower water pressure great with plenty of hot water. No small wash cloths. No USB ports in the room. Food at the bar was good and fair price. Friendly and efficient staff.
