Excellent location in central london. The hotel is just 1 min walk from Russel square station. Almost all attractions in London are close-by. The breakfast buffet menu is constant. A little variation might be appreciated. The service is good. This hotel is on the expensive side. The hotel is well-maintained and the building has heritage design. The lifts are slow in this building. I wish I would have come later in November to see the full glory of Christmas in England. I had a delayed flight and the hotel staff kindly adjusted my check out time as the room was available. They also offered to store my luggage till the end of the day. Rooms: Rooms are decent. They are well maintained and clean. The lifts are slow Nearby activities: Bus tours are there. Walkable distance to British museum, postal museum, Trafalgar square, Big ben, Palace of Westminster, Westminster abby and riverside walk opposite Thames Safety: Very safe even during nights Walkability: Most attractions are at walkable distance. Russel square station is closest tube station
An impressive building with well preserved decor. However my room was draughty, and to beat everything I was asked if I'd like to leave a 5% discretion on check out. This has never happened to me in a hotel of this level. The staff were lovely though so perhaps the hotel management should pay them more ;Rooms: 3/5
Beautiful architectural and design details throughout. We arrived early from a red eye flight and the front desk did their best to accommodate us. We really enjoyed the restaurant on site as well as the cocktail bar. The rooms, however, left a lot to be desired. While well maintained, it is deceptively small compared to online photos. The bathroom was so small it is almost non-functional. Lastly, our room specifically had very squeaky floors, not great for light sleepers. Overall, location was accessible, with the tube being right around the corner. Would consider staying again, though would upgrade to a bigger room.
We had an absolutely amazing stay. The staff are exceptionally friendly and go above and beyond to make you feel special. The attention to detail and the effort they make for special occasions is amazing. Everyone is so happy to help and make you feel so welcome. I would recommend eating at the restaurant and a good explore around the hotel when you stay as there’s lots to see.
An elegant place for a week-long stay in London! A double room was perfectly comfortable for one person for six days, with charming decor and efficient service. The hotel itself is beautiful and situated very close to Russel Square tube station; also about a fifteen-minute walk from Covent Garden, five minutes from the British Museum, or a longer stroll to the Strand or Buckingham Palace. I particularly appreciated the hotel’s evening social hour—a lovely chance to converse with other guests and enjoy some of the bar amenities. Nearby activities: The British Museum is literally around the corner! Although the hotel has a lovely cafe itself, there is also a Pret across the street for quick snacks or coffee to go. Walkability: Located very close to Russel Square tube station; also about a fifteen-minute walk from Covent Garden, five minutes from the British Museum, or a longer stroll about thirty minutes on foot to the Strand or Buckingham Palace.
We stayed at Kimoton for four nights as a couple without kids. The hotel is beautifully designed, featuring dark tones and an upscale, sophisticated ambiance. While the rooms are small, they are impeccably clean and well-equipped with excellent showers and high-quality amenities. Breakfast was a highlight—fresh and absolutely delicious. We tried the buffet and especially enjoyed the pastries and breads. Rooms: Small but good Nearby activities: Near Russsle square and the British museum Safety: Super safe Walkability: 0.1 miles from Russel square, 7 min walk from Holborn station Food & drinks: Lots of places surrounding the hotell
Words can't express the level of service we've received so far from the staff at the Kimpton. Roxanna and Maria, THANK YOU for making this special stay so amazing so far. We love the vibe of this place, it's the kind of hotel you'd expect when someone tells you about a prestigious English hotel. The rooms are fantastic considering the location, I've stayed in dozens and dozens of hotels in central London and the room here at the Kimpton is more than we expected. I have to make note of the cleanliness of the room too, not a single spec of dust or dirt. Have yet to try the breakfast but will update our review later on most likely. Just wanted to post this right away as we are blown away by the level of service received.
Stunning architecture and great service! We were treated very well during our visit. We did find the hotel room a bit small for the price, though. The breakfast buffet could also offer some more variety, and we found it a shame that the hotel doesn’t have a spa area – especially because it would look incredible in such a beautiful and historic building.
This was our first visit to London, and the location of this hotel was ideal. Our stay began well as we checked in. Marina was so friendly and welcoming that we were immediately impressed. We used the concierge service often. Sean and Joseph were especially helpful. Dining at Fritz’s was a great experience.Rooms: 4/5
The Kimpton Fitzroy is a delightful place to stay in Russell Square. While the modernization has made the hotel feel a bit generic, the public spaces remain impressive, and the rooms are well-appointed with quality linens and amenities. However, it’s the staff who truly make this hotel stand out. I wasn’t feeling well during my stay, and the staff went above and beyond to ensure my comfort. They provided a resting room when my early check-in wasn’t possible, and when my condition worsened, they assisted me in getting the care I needed. Upon my return from hospital, they upgraded my room and made me feel incredibly supported. Their kindness and attention to detail turned a challenging time into a much more manageable experience. Highly recommend this hotel for both its comfort and exceptional staff.
