I stayed here in 2007 and had very little money and didn't want to stay in a terrible place. The family that owned it was from Greece and the nicest people ever. The man who owned it told me he only lets good people stay there. It's quiet, clean and you never want to leave. It's the best hotel I ever stayed in. I don't know their names but I hope the same family still owns it. If they are reading this, I never forgot the wonderful kindness you showed me. I live in Latin America now and im very happy but if you are the same family from 2007 who owns this hotel, I really want to visit just to thank you and see you again. God bless you.
The room is small and the bathroom is down the stairs. It was 5 flights to carry my luggage as there is no elevator. Service is wonderful. Rooms are 70 pounds per night and 10 pounds for a full on breakfast. Cute little garden out back. It is close to Russell square underground tube and just down the street from the British museum. I didn't even use the tube to get around as it is a 15 minute walk to Covenant Garden.
My family wife and daughter of 7 Yrs and I lived in the Celtic Hotel from 16-30 Dec 2022. I say “lived” because it felt like home away from home. Our triple en-suite room was on the 2nd floor. Mrs. Marrazi who presides over the hotel, Ms. Deborah, Ms. Annalisa and every member of this hotel are wonderful, kind, warm, caring, approachable and made us feel at home immediately upon our arrival and throughout our stay. This hotel is a hidden gem with remarkably low rates and very high service standards. The breakfast is delicious and is served very professionally at the table in the dining area. We observed that the hotel, common seating areas, as well as the common facilities including the towels are well maintained at very high standards of hygiene. The room has fully functional radiators for heating and the baths had hot showers. As is the regional practice, bidets are not present in the facilities. On the first day we reported a small snag in the bathroom which was immediately fixed the very same day. The hotel is conveniently located within 2 minute walking distance to the Russel Square tube station Piccadilly line straight to Heathrow as well as bus stops on Russel street and Southampton Row. Restaurants, Cafes, Pharmacies, Tesco/Sainsbury/Waitrose are all within 5-7 minute walking distance. The hotel name comes up on search in several taxi/trip booking apps. Celtic Hotel has made our first time in London truly memorable and happy and we are looking forward to staying at the Celtic Hotel on revisiting London.
I was only in London for the weekend but the staff in the hotel were friendly, and helpful. It was comfortable and clean, and the breakfast was tasty, and filling. Will definitely stay again when next in Londin
This is the one of the best hotel experience I’ve ever had. They provide excellent quality of service and perfect value of breakfast. Location was great, only 2 minutes walk to the underground. The room is also spotless. Will definitely visit again!!!!!
I spent 8 nights the celtic for a buisness trip in April. The owners and staff are very nice and friendly. The room was small but quiet and had everything I needed to relax after a long day. The bed was very comfortable. Highly recommend and I will come back.
Very comfortable, family run Hotel. Like being at your own home. Spotlessly clean. Very good breakfast menu. Excellent position near underground, Park, and British Museum. Easy to move around Central London.
Warm, comfortable, scrupulously clean, family feeling, presided over by the wonderful Mrs. Marazzi. Get the breakfast,, served sweetly.. Close to Russell Square tube stop and Piccadilly line.Rooms: 4/5
One of the best hotel experiences ever. Very central location, delicious breakfast, excellent service, so that guests always feel welcome.
We just returned from a trip to London where we stayed at The Celtic with a group that included three generations grandmother, her two daughters and three teenage/young adult granddaughters. My sister and I had stayed at St. Margaret's in the 1990's as part of a school program, and the same family runs this hotel. Our rooms were very clean, and stay was very pleasant and comfortable. Having stayed at St. Margaret's, we knew to expect something different from an American-style or chain hotel. What we gave up in standardized rooms and air conditioning was more than overcome by the helpful and attentive staff and homelike feeling of the place. They even organized a special treat for my mother on our last day, which was her birthday. The Celtic will always hold a special place in our hearts.
