We are in London once a year and each time our choice is The Mandeville Hotel. The service, location and rooms feel like coming home each time we stay. The staff at the hotel are always kind, efficient, and engaging. The Executive Double rooms overlooking the college and quaint high street are our favorite, although the Terrace Suite is a splurge-worthy treat. Located in the picture perfect neighborhood of Marylebone, everything we need is either a pleasant walk or short tube ride away. Next year we'll be back! We wouldn't miss it.
Great place! Even if it is in the middle of London, it is a quiet hotel. They have 'conference' rooms as well, small, but nice wallpaper which gives you a pleaseant stay. Toilets clean, like at home, with proper cotton hand towels instead of paper ones. Thanks! See you next time!!!Rooms: 5/5
I don’t understand how this place qualifies as a 4-star hotel; the room service menu is laughably limited and the rooms are quite small. Furthermore, there is no gym and no real amenities. The only good thing about this place is the location and the service is decent. I would recommend elsewhere if you actually want the 4-star experience.
I would call this a boutique hotel at the center of town. It is located strategically with plenty of restaurants around. The room are much smaller than what I expected. The hotel is a nice quaint little place. Service is excellent, concierge to the front desk staff are all very helpful.Rooms: 4/5
This could be a great boutique hotel but it still needs lots of improvements. The personnel is friendly and efficient. The breakfast is really good. For me it comes due to quality of sleep and details. The beds are not great snd the curtains are big well fitted spring lots of light to come from outside. Good location, near to everything, but big price tag. Rooms: The quality of the beds is not great. Woke up with a sore back the next day Food & drinks: Excellent breakfast offerings and service
Was a nice clean hotel. Staff were very polite. Check in and out was swift. Location was great. Price was reasonable compared to other hotels. Room was clean.Rooms: 5/5
What a great location! Also, the staff were amazing and went above / beyond with every request. Special nod to the concierge staff that were as helpful as any we’ve experienced across the globe! Agree rooms are small we squeezed 3 to our room but aren’t you there to experience London? Also the quality of the room was as expected! Check it out!! Nearby activities: Easily close to all types of shopping, restaurants, tourists spots/parks and more. Walkability: Easy walking to local restaurants, shopping and attractions. It’s also only a few blocks to Bond St. tube station.
It is very nice hotel with very friendly staff. Its location is excellent where is closed to Oxford Street the heart of Central London. Lots of restaurants and cafes are around the hotel. The cleanliness of the hotel is great. Rooms: The room was little bit small but is quiet. Nearby activities: It is in the heart of Central London. There are lots of restaurants and cafes around it. Marble Arch and Hyde Park are withinn walking distance. Safety: It is very safe and secured. Food & drinks: The hotel offers a wide variety of breakfast items.
Unfortunately my company booked this visit for me. I arrived at 8 am as I was on an overnight flight from NY. When I arrived at the hotel, I was informed that my reservation was canceled, in its entirety, because I did not check in prior to 2am. I had called the hotel more than a week before to let them know that I was coming in on an overnight flight, so even thought the room is reserved on the 5th, I’ll not be checking in until the morning of the 6th. They assured me they took notes. Lo and behold, no notes! Next they tried to place a new reservation at my expense, even though the prior reservation, that they cancelled, was paid for by my employer. Icing on the cake: they did not have the room that was originally reserved, and they had no rooms ready at this time except for what I believe to be the smallest room in the entire hotel. It’s not so much the lack of notes or the size of the room, but the demeanor of the front desk. They could not care less, and I think they thought they were doing me a favor. I would never stay here again, and I do not recommend that anyone else does either.
It might not be unusual in Britain that things look better than they are. Entering the hotel from a beautiful classic front, you will most probably end on a floor with very low ceilings in a 60ies or 70ies steel-concrete building. The rooms are as usual in London small and quite used but clean. Why then only 3 stars? The windows have absolutely no insulation, neither against temperature nor against any noise. As it is a busy area in the evenings you will have quite some noise! If it is raining you will find water dropping on the window board. As well you hear every noise from the aisle if anybody passes by talking. The aircondition blows at high level, even when swithed to low ventilation. A very not satisfying situation for a 4 star hotel and you should discuss, wheather showing this pretty front and ending in the old tower rooms is o.k. or not.
