Extremely friendly staff both on reception and in the bar/restaurant. The room was clean but very small room 306 on the 1st floor, a petite double with no table or desk at all so I couldn't do any work. Toilet was way too close to the wall and roll holder, even for a slimmer person. But the shower was spacious. The cocktails were well made and served with nuts and olives. Overall the food and drink was expensive, even for this area. The food was disappointing, especially bland gnocchi for dinner. Breakfast was ok. Finally, one word of warning about the 4% service charge they will try to apply to your entire bill - not mentioned on booking.com etc - and this is on top of the service charge applied to food and drink. I think this is pretty sneaky, so it should be clearly stated on their online booking profiles.
This is a really nice hotel with a very personal boutique feel. For example, the reception is one desk with a very personal feel, not like the impersonal procession you get in larger hotels. It's well decorated with nice rooms which are very comfortable. Our room had an outdoor patio, which was really unusual and nice. The breakfast was table service and very good. My only issue was that they hit us with a service charge of £13.80 for 1 night. I really don't like being hit with unexpected charges. In my opinion, if everything should be included in the price of the room, then you know exactly what you are paying. Walkability: 5-10 minutes from Baker Street Underground
I hate leaving more negative reviews but unfortunately our experience wasn't the best. When we arrived we were told there was a discretionary 4% service charge added to the bill. We had no knowledge of this prior to booking. We asked for it to be removed but told we had to wait until we left. The room was OK - bed was very comfy and nice clean sheets. Carpet was pretty dirty with multiple stains and some fresh coffee & tea spill stains on the table which hadn't been cleaned before we arrived. Bathroom was very clean with a nice shower but the frosted glass door had a large gap between it and the wall leaving little privacy. Breakfast service was good and the English breakfast and coffee was great. Upon leaving we had to have the discussion again about the 4% service charge which became very awkward. I feel this should be made much clearer when booking. Overall I'd say 3.5 stars.
I would say, hand's down, the best drinks in London. Don't know what the secret ingredient is, but the person making them really knows their stuff. Even if you don't drink, I would recommend it just on the decor, location, and atmosphere alone.Service: 5/5
Some staff member is messing with doings what was on cartoon network back in the 90s meanwhile probational period, adding to it. Not talking much, mostly same things to each other. Pulling off the whole probation and hiring, after a couple of months giving an assesment and putting the others mess into it as well like I did it. Like it has no future Unbelievable.
We booked a room the afternoon of June 30th, 2024 for a room that evening. Unfortunately our flight was cancelled coming from another country in Europe about 5-6 hours later. No flexibility in refunding us for the stay even though the booking was made that day room would have gone empty Bummer cause the hotel seemingly looks nice
Excellent location in a beatiful neighborhood and every necessary transportation at short walking distance. The room and all spaces are elegant and clean and the staff was polite and welcoming. The cigar lounge was a great experience. Definitely will revisit. Noteworthy details: Cigar lounge with rich cigar collection.
3 times spread across 5 days I cannot access my room and have to wait at the reception to simply be able to get to my room. Its a core of customer experience, not upside offering, hence frustrated as its not a one-off inconvenience but regular event
Nice place, great location. My room was “underground” so it felt kind of weird.Rooms: 4/5
This hotel is interesting. It is in the perfect location between Baker Street, Marylebone High Street and close to Oxford Street. It is very nice, clean and quaint with really friendly service. The only strange part was that the lobby smells like cigarette smoke and there was a large vacuum cleaner stored outside of our room for 2 nights. ‍
