Very elegant hotel in good central York location; interesting "straight line" walk to and from the station and railway museum with part alongside the railway and including footbridge across the river. Good service from all the staff, room well appointed and clean. Interesting history available regarding the origin of the establishment.

Very nice period hotel. Food in the restaurant was good for our evening meal and breakfast good. Will go again.

We attended the Gin Experience and Late lunch afternoon. Thoroughly enjoyed both. Highly recommended.

Just returned from a 2 night break Inc new year's Eve. Good points: Nice hotel in good location, easy walking distance from the City. Bad points: Very disappointed that breakfast was not included in the price 189.00 per night, they charge 15 pounds extra which is ridiculous. Then on top of this they charge another 10.00 per night for parking!! Will definitely be looking for somewhere else to stay next time we visit York.
