I have stayed in many hotels in the world. This is in my top ten. Why: it is spotlessly clean. Food is good but more importantly the staff are friendly and welcoming. The location is perfect, rooms are spacious. I will definitely look out for indigo hotels in the future

Bathrooms brilliant, with wet room walk-in shower and TV speaker. Interesting decor. Hotel in excellent location and not too big. Dining room service can be variable, possibly due to high turnover of staff. Lots of excellent restaurants within close walking distance though.

Loved this place! It was in a really convenient location and was spotlessly clean, lovely décor. The staff were very friendly, especially the woman at breakfast - whom I presume was the manager, who was exceptionally bubbly and welcoming. The room and facilities were brilliant and I didn't want to leave. Considering going back to York just to stay there again! 100% recommend!

First of all, the best thing about the hotel are the staff, very friendly and accommodating and made the stay an absolute pleasure. The rooms are well appointed, however they do have exposed hardwood floors. York City centre is very compact, and the hotel is on the outskirts, which is about a five minute walk from the Shambles and about ten minutes from York Minster. The train station is a bit further out, but still walkable.

Really enjoyed our two night stay here. Check in was very smooth with the option of opening an account for any purchases made in the hotel. The room itself was a fantastic size for an inner city hotel with all the amenities you would expect. Bathroom was spacious and clean with a good shower and plenty of towels and bathrobes. The bed was comfortable with plenty of options for pillows and the curtains stretched further than the window offering a great black out effect. As is to be expected the rooms aren't totally sound proof and the climate control is a little loud but nothing that detracted from the overall stay. The breakfast was one of the best we've had with a huge array of continental goods and the ability to order cooked food from the kitchen. We also enjoyed a few reasonably priced cocktails from the bar in the evenings where all the staff were great. Overall would definitely recommend and it's made us consider Hotel Indigo hotels in other cities when we next go away.
