The Gore

About

A quintessentially British hotel, just a glance from Hyde Park, The Gore offers luxury, privacy and undeniable character in equal measure since 1892

Story

Since 1892, The Gore has been one of the capital's truly great hotels. The ethos of discretion, seclusion and excellence has allowed us to welcome a wide variety of fascinating guests through our doors.

Described by the media as the most photographed, romantic hotel in London and lived in by a wealth of regular guests who have discovered their own home away from home, The Gore is a welcoming alternative from corporate hotel chains.

Complete with the iconic Bar 190, the fabulous Bistro One Ninety and three bespoke event rooms, The Gore will make sure your stay is memorable whether it's just for a few hours or for a few days.

We now offer exclusive hire at the Gore Hotel for private use, whether it's a private house party, your wedding or simply a corporate team building group. This can include bedrooms, bistro, bar and our event rooms.

Very quirky place. I love the character in this hotel. George, the concierge man was amazing, I can't commend him enough for all the help he provided during our stay! Very friendly staff and an amazing location to film. We shot our hero I interview here for Stolen Land season 2, and search it on YouTube for a look at the Library room. Thanks, team. You've been absolutely amazing!
Cute classic small hotel in good location and some excellent staff members. 3 stars for few reasons. Service charges are questionable, reception needs to be asked for some advertised included extras, in a half empty hotel. Why not be a bit more generous when space is available? Maybe because they try to keep empty rooms between occupied ones for the noise issues that we didn’t experience. The beds are fine but in the ‘budget’ rooms there is no logic place for a kettle. Best, keep an eye on the booking trends and wait to book last minute as prices drop 2 days before date. Having learned this, we would probably stay again.
I had an amazing stay at the hotel. The staff is so friendly and goes above and beyond to help. I loved my cozy room and the bar and sitting area as well. A wonderful little place on a beautiful quiet street. Highly recommend!Rooms: 5/5
Quite disappointed in our stay considering the cost! It’s a beautiful hotel and the location is really the best thing about it, but for the price I found it pretty lacking. We were up in the tiniest attic rooms which is fine really, but noise through the walls was shocking. We all shared our morning alarms up there! Absolutely paper thin. The hot water was really inconsistent: most of the time there wasn’t any. None at all from the tap and the shower was freezing for about ten minutes before things warmed up. The duvet was considerably smaller than the cover itself so not nearly enough blanket to actually cover the bed properly. All small things on their own but together just not good enough for the price. Won’t be saying again that’s for certain.
Not sure what to say. I enjoyed my stay here. The staff were super respectful, friendly and professional. The rooms were emaculate and the food was good. It's located in South Kensington which is a really lovely and safe area in LondonRooms: 5/5
Hotel is elegant and attractive with a lot of character and history, well maintained and very clean rooms with all the amenities you would expect to make a stay effortless. Very good location in a safe and appealing neighborhood within easy walking distance of major museums, good restaurants, shopping, parks and public transportation. Our experience with check-in, staying overnight to check-out was impeccable. Hotel staff were friendly, professional and attentive. Irina at front desk ensured that out check in and out was smooth and had our room available earlier than expected. Christian helped us with our very heavy and voluminous luggage not once but twice. Michaele was very kind and attentive as we were traveling with young children. When we picked up our luggage and were about to leave the hotel, Ammar and Marian promptly hailed us a taxi so that we can head to the airport. Salvatore from the bar at hotel made possible a magical evening that enhanced our stay further. Finally, the hotel library and books thoughtfully placed in all rooms, not to mention the beautiful antique Bible in the ground floor, encouraged us to learn about history and literature of the great city in which we were able to spend a few memorable days.
Lovely staff, good location and decent-ish breakfast. Only downside is the usual weird and Victorian London plumbing so getting a shower is a battle between scorching and freezing. Great bar Rooms: 5/5
I stopped in for a drink between meetings and was disappointed by the service. The waitress at the bar was quite miserable and rude, asking "What do you want?" The reception guy was overly flirtatious, which felt uncomfortable. Additionally, the food and drinks are expensive for what you get. Overall, the experience felt more like a rundown 3-star rather than a 5-star. Staff training definitely needs improvement.
My wife and I go to very luxury hotels and this has been our favorite hotel experience!! Everything from the design of the rooms to the service was impeccable. We hope to stay here again soon! Also, it was the perfect location!! Highly recommended!Rooms: 5/5
We love the afternoon tea and certainly will come to tea every year before we go to the Royal Variety Show. An elegant place for afternoon tea with good food and service.Service: 5/5
