I visited Winchester for a small bit of business and due to my low budget I decided to choose this place, I booked a single room for 2 nights for only £70. Pros: The online booking process was very simple and managed to book my room instantly. The staff welcoming and they showed me to my room, the room was clean, at the bar the atmosphere was welcoming and relaxing. The dining area was clean, cosey and nicely furnished. Cons: My room was located up a tight, dark spiral stairwell with no light which didn't help when I had to lock/unlock my door. while the room was clean there were marks and holes in the wall, a switch was unsafely fitted with wires exposed, it was a single room but had two single beds for some reason, the mattress was old and I could feel the springs, the window wouldn't stay open all the way and the light switch was outside my room for some strange reason so I kept a torch on most times. The 2 showers were atrocious and dirty, either not working or no hot water at all, if your staying here for one night I'd recommend having a shower before you arrive At breakfast there was very little choice, tea, coffee, milk was provided with two cereals, there was bread and a toaster and that was about it, there was a small snack machine also. Food was provided but it was mainly finger food, I was expecting a menu and table service. Overall: Affordable but only ideal as a last resort, it needs a vast improvement, this is the first B&B I stayed in and I would rather have spent a bit more and stayed in a hotel.
Very polite and friendly staff, amazing atmosphere wonderful food, very clean facilities and a perfectly poured pint. back again today 21st November Had the smoked streaky bacon burger, absolutely fantastic, giant and tasted amazing, I can't recommend this place enough. Thank you for your hospitality Adam
So like me and my mate came down to Winchester for the sesh and as soon as I got here the staff were friendly and proper chill. Room was nice and they were chill with the fact we would be coming back early hours in the morning. Staff were helpful and a laugh and we are definitely gonna stay here again.
This is the worst place I every stayed at. I prepaid for 2 nights and was told I would be reimbursed for the second night and they never responded. It was so bad it was like everyone in the bar was in our room. I heard more swear words in one night than I have heard my whole life. It sounded like there was a fight downstairs in the bar. My daughter was afraid to go out of the room to go to the bathroom. Very unsafe and not trustworthy.
It's not a B&B presently, but it is reasonably priced food, and a clean pub with fresh tasting draught lager. I stayed at the nearby premier Inn, and found it well worth the walk down for dinner and a pint compared to the Thyme restaurant attached to that.
Lovely cosy place, had a meal there with my boyfriend, everyone was very friendly and helpful, food was delicious, the colour scheme of the interior is also really nice, was just a lovely evening, hope to go again soon
Garden needs some attention and they need some highchairs but then it has just been refurbished. Food was great and staff are friendly. Smoking area needs moving away from building as baby changing room stank of smoke
Dirty rooms, even more dirty shared bathrooms, no soap in WC, half of the foods for the breakfast were expired especially the bread. This Pub should not operate. Waste of money
Great local pub, good beer and yummy food. Recently taken over and refurbished, hope a success as this area needs a decent pub.
Called in for drinks. Lovely day so sat in beer garden which is really nice. Pleasant and friendly.
