This is such a lovely mix of a place: Pub one half; lovely casual but good food eatery on the other. Every member of staff we came into contact with was really friendly and helpful (one even advised me ordering the extra avocado because they were hard that day). This place gets booked up and they had no spare tables the entire time we were there and a sign outside warning people, but if I’m ever in Winchester again, I will certainly book another table. We were not hurried at all. Worked out as £50 for three. The burger was delicious.

Good food and drink. Hotel part was ' boutique's in style. Comfortable clean and reasonably sized room. All facilities good. Had reason to report TV not working but all resolved straight away. Bit noisy at about 7.15am as staff cleaned the bar and restaurant below due to furniture being dragged on wooden floors. Bit annoying only if you wanted a lie in. Superbly positioned for central Winchester and its many attractions. Parking permit system worked well for us.

Location ideal, food excellent and very welcoming but TV didn't work in spite of our and their best efforts. We got it going eventually but so much hassle. If TV doesn't matter to you, fine but if you're wedded to your soaps go to a chain where TV's work! Plus 11.00 booking out is mean and suits them, not us punters. Can negotiate a later time.

Great little pub and restaurant! Had a large group meal in a private room which made it feel all the more special. Food was really tasty and staff were helpful and friendly

Stayed in an amazing apartment when we took our grand daughter to see the university. Great place to stay, well placed, 5 star breakfast, would definitely stay again and strongly recommend. Very friendly people.
