We had such a great meal here. Every dish was good but the duck confit in particular was great. The wine was good and service was polite. The actual dining area is beautifully put together with nice memorabilia on the old pub facade. Very reasonable value given the quality of food. This was a real treat.
One of my favourite pubs anyway so I always try to look in when in Winchester, even if only for a quick drink. A bonus that they serve my favourite beer, Gales HSB Horndean Special Brew. Very well kept here as well, served at perfect temperature. Look out for the old school desks from the public school next door, repurpossed for the pub.
We had an incredible Sunday roast at The Wykeham Arms easily one of the best I’ve had in a long time.nnThe food was absolutely outstanding. The chicken was amazing, beautifully cooked and full of flavour, and the beef was perfect , tender, rich, and cooked exactly right. Everything on the plate was spot on, from the roast potatoes to the Yorkshire pudding and gravy.nnFantastic atmosphere, service was second to none, and a proper top-quality roast. Highly recommend and will definitely be back!
We've had a wonderful time in Winchester. Wykeham Arms is a beautiful old pub and the accommodation was perfect, many nice touches and plush furnishings. Staff are very welcoming and helpful.nBreakfasts were delicious with a vast array of choices. Really enjoyed our visit to the Cathedral which is only a few minutes, easy walk away, perfect location for visiting the centre of Winchester.
Stayed here for the Valentines weekend and was a great experience! Located in the heart of Winchester by the cathedral we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!nnWe stayed 2 nights and enjoyed the impressive breakfast and had lunch here too. Highly recommend this for a visit to Winchester! Only downside was the room was a bit creaky but given the age of the building it’s to be expected!
