Prison Doors and a Roof Terrace... not all B&Bs are the same
Prison doors and a roof terrace – not all B&Bs are the same.
The Black Hole B&B is a characterful Bed and Breakfast situated in the historic town of Winchester – the latest in former Royal Guardsman David Nicholson’s black empire.
We have 10 double en-suite rooms that are all individually designed and furnished with actual prison doors made out of solid wood and iron dating back to 1890. At The Black Hole we have a fantastic roof terrace with stunning views across Winchester. All cells come with free WIFI a smart TV and under floor heating. A complementary full English or Continental with tea, coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice is available to all our guests.
The Black Hole B&B is located next door to the famously quirky Black Boy Pub – think stuffed donkeys, baboons, and church pews, Agas. If you have a taste for real ales and eccentric design, this is a place to visit. With a real fire in the winter and a relaxed summer garden, it’s the quintessential British boozer. Opposite The B&B is our Michelin starred Black Rat Restaurant, serving traditional English food with a twist. About a five-minute walk down Chesil Street from The B&B is The Black Bottle wine bar which offers a cozy and sophisticated approach to fine wines from around the world. The wine bar is a first for Winchester, serving more than 32 wines by the glass from a range of over 150 wines.
