Lovely food. Queue system could be better. Seating needs upgrading.. stuffing coming out of the benches. Toilets clean. Friendly staff.

Not great! Recently revamped and average for the market. But - on Saturday 6.1.2018 they actively allowed a traffic camera van to use their private car park (it clearly states for patrons only) and capture speeding vehicles. Were the camera personnel using the pub for food? No because the van rear window was open. Are the Astley Arms making a profit from the van being used there? Before they state vehicles speed there; vehicles speed wherever their drivers let them. That eatery already has a perfectly good speed camera exactly where the camera van was parked. I don't condone speeding motorists but the behaviour by allowing the use of their car park for the van has put not just myself but also many other people (an image was posted to social media) off from using their eatery. Public parking is literally 10 feet away from where the camera van was parked. They should have used that. It tells me that the camera van was parked within the eatery car park and with full permission. Sorry Astley Arms but you're being slated on social media for this. You don't allow non users of your eatery to use the car park yet allow this (with perfectly acceptable parking nearby).

Vastly improved since my last visit, the decor has been updated to a very high standard (toilets are a bit lack luster) and the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. Carvery line was clean and the service was good, as was the taste and quality of the food for the price. The place was very quiet (Friday mid day) so can't comment on busy service. Definitely worth a another visit. Download the app and get 33% off the cost of the meal. The carpark is now totally free to use, even for non punters.

We got. Our starter then sat there for over. An hour. There was only 3 couples In that whole time so wasn't busy. I asked. About our food to hear a lady shout. To. A chef them him get another. Chef out the kitchen and shout at him for. A different lady to come and tell us the chef had done our food order then thrown our ticket in the bin with the dinners on...... We was a little annoyed. However its not this that out us off. Its the waiting for a pager to go off then go to. A bar area to. Collect the pizza to them. Go. To the other area to get your heatlamped dried out been there all. Day chips to go to the other area to. Get your salad to then go. To your table. And eat after going to. The bar. To. Place your order.. It put us off and alee spoke. With other people who said the same. You want a nice meal. Not a nice walk out. Place seems to of. Gone downhill since. Its revamp and will be avoiding future. Very bad service and pretty. Unprofessional staff
