Story

As the warmer days and longer nights coax us out, The Beacon Hotel Ember Inn is drawing in the social crowd that really enjoys drinking and eating out in Whitley Bay. We're famous around Tynemouth, Earsdon and North Shields for our cask conditioned ales, wines, soft drinks and fresh coffees, which all complement our superb value, seasonal pub-food menu.

You'll enjoy a warm welcome too at our regular pub quiz, weekly themed Meal & A Drink Offer Nights and occasional seasonal Cask Ale festivals where you can try our ales before you buy and even request to have your favourite cask put on behind the bar

The perfect pub to come to unwind and have a pint. Food is excellent and the staff and ambience make you feel so welcome. Will definitely visit again when on this side of the pond.Food: 5/5
Sunday Lunch. Despite being quite busy, the Staff were very friendly and welcoming. They even found us a dog friendly table, as we decided at short notice to take the dog. Nice relaxing atmosphere, waitresses were very attentive and the food was delicious. There is plenty of choices on the menu, and we will definitely be back to try some of these other dishes. I highly recommend The Beacon. Vegetarian options: Nice Vegetarian Options. Parking: Large Free Car Park, including Disabled Spaces and plenty of Free Overflow Parking on the Adjacent Street. Wheelchair accessibility: Easy Wheelchair Access.
Used to come here in the 90s as a kid. Loved the corn beef pie. Came back 4 years ago and it was good. Came yesterday and it was fab. Good food, great service and atmosphere. Parking: Plenty of spaces right outside or in the residential streets Kid-friendliness: Very kind friendly.
On entering The Beacon, I was greeted warmly by the staff. The lad that served me was very friendly and engaged in conversation. Had a lovely drink and noticed all of the staff were constantly busy serving food and being very pleasant with other customers. Manageress came across and warmly welcomed us. Lovely pub and lovely experience.Food: 5/5
Couldn’t have been more helpful the staff here and the food was really tasty! Really polite and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Great range of drinks and good atmosphere in the pub. Plenty of parking outside and in a great location. Delicious food and the photos do not do it justice. Thank you!!
Great pub. The quiz is always fun on the Sunday night. Good food and booze. The calamari is top tier. They sometimes offer free drinks on the app too so it's well worth getting. Would recommend going.Food: 5/5

A really busy pub. Very attentive friendly staff. Menu was large so plenty of choice. I plumped for 2 courses for under £10 . Prawn cocktail a little supplement and a gorgeous vibrant Greek style salad. Will definately be back .
Came on Thursday steak night with son and partner . I had rainbow lasagne which was really nice Rather busy night Vegetarian options: There isn't a lot available for vegetarians
