Country pub

Story

Combining traditional ale brands, multi-award winning chefs and modern thinking, the Beehive Inn of Earsdon is under new management and is ready to become your new favourite local.

In view of St. Mary's Island and the golden Longsands of Whitley Bay, whether it's a lazy Sunday lunch, a quick drink after work in the pub's one acre secret garden, or watching the match with friends, The Beehive has it covered.

Running alongside its brand new and extensive range of high-quality, no-nonsense pub grub, the Beehive will now offer throughout the year a feast of live entertainment; including regular comedy nights and music events, featuring some of the region's hottest emerging talent.

The pub is located between the villages of Eardson and Hartley on the border of North Tyneside and Northumberland.

The Grade II-listed building was built in the 18th Century and became an inn in 1896 and despite it's recent refurbishment, the pub still maintains its old charm and character.

The ancient low wooden beamed ceilings have survived the recent overhaul along with its charming snug dining areas and quaint atmosphere.

If you're tired of the uniformity of faceless chain pubs, and want a unique, traditional experience, the new Beehive Inn of Earsdon won't let you down.

Friendly and polite service, excellent food and even better beer. Honestly couldn't ask for more from a pub set in a countryside location. My 9 year old son absolutely loved the "secret garden" play area. Plenty of picnic tables around to keep a close eye on him while he played. The atmosphere is lovely with an occasional quirky and humorous sign here and there that just makes the place feel welcoming rather than this just being down to how well you get treated by staff. Overall, well worth a visit if you're in the area.

Exactly what the doctor ordered. A short drive down a winding road and then you're greeted by the georgeous historical building of the beehive. Low ceilings, a serving hatch bar, nostalgic photos, happy staff and gorgeous food. We ate outside near the small paddock and thoroughly enjoyed the day. My grandparents used to come here when they were younger and always spoke of it fondly. Now I can see why.
