About

Country pub

Story

Combining traditional ale brands, multi-award winning chefs and modern thinking, the Beehive Inn of Earsdon is under new management and is ready to become your new favourite local.

In view of St. Mary's Island and the golden Longsands of Whitley Bay, whether it's a lazy Sunday lunch, a quick drink after work in the pub's one acre secret garden, or watching the match with friends, The Beehive has it covered.

Running alongside its brand new and extensive range of high-quality, no-nonsense pub grub, the Beehive will now offer throughout the year a feast of live entertainment; including regular comedy nights and music events, featuring some of the region's hottest emerging talent.

The pub is located between the villages of Eardson and Hartley on the border of North Tyneside and Northumberland.

The Grade II-listed building was built in the 18th Century and became an inn in 1896 and despite it's recent refurbishment, the pub still maintains its old charm and character.

The ancient low wooden beamed ceilings have survived the recent overhaul along with its charming snug dining areas and quaint atmosphere.

If you're tired of the uniformity of faceless chain pubs, and want a unique, traditional experience, the new Beehive Inn of Earsdon won't let you down.

Perfect in every way. Fabulous ambience. Staff awesome. Had main course 3 of us freshly cooked, absolutely amazing to the point very full but HAD to try dessert! This was one of the best dining out experiences I've had and will be back! Not to be missed.Food: 5/5
I've been to the Beehive many times before, but this is my first visit fir Sunday lunch. I had the 12 hour slow cooked beef brisket and it was absolutely delicious, great Yorkshire pub too.. Staff are very friendly and polite. A definite must, but please book a table so you aren't disappointed. 21/10/23 - The Beehive is still up to it's ususal fabulous high standards. Food fantastic, staff lovely, friendly and helpful. Thanks.
Heard good things about the Beehive and it didn't disappoint! Having been for a walk to work up an appetite around the local, and lovely, Hollywell Dene, we arrived early as we had the nephew's with us and the staff were very attentive and accommodating. Food was excellent, cooked to a really good standard, the portion sizes were on the large size and didn't need to be quite so big because the quality was so good, I'd have happily paid the same for less! As you can see I struggled to even get the fish in the picture without the need for a wide angle lens! Will definitely be returning again and have added it to my armoury of top pubs to eat at in the North East
Yet again we have had great food at the beehive inn, cooked to order but we'll worth the wait as it was excellent. The pesto salmon was fabulous according to my wife who loves salmon. I had the gish and chips with curry sauce and that was some of the best I've had. Staff are great and attentive and the place is really nice. Booking ahead is recommended to guarantee a table.. Good choice of real ales also available. We shall be back. Parking: Parking around the inn with overflow area but within easy reach we'll within 50 yards.
This place is super dog friendly and the service is excellent. They have a massive beer garden too. The food was nice, especially the chimmichurri chicken with cous cous really light and felt almost like a salad, the steak pie is also lovely! Vegetarian options: A couple of different options including a stir fry and bean burger. Parking: Lots of parking available on a gravel car park
We will definitely be returning to this amazing place! We turned up on a Sunday lunchtime without a reservation and they were able to fit us in! We were made to feel so welcome and the staff were so friendly. The atmosphere just made you feel as if you had gone out to lunch with your family. And the food was absolutely delicious, it was the best fish pie that I have ever tasted. It was the first time we had been, but we will definitely be back!
Beautiful meal out with my good lady wife. Great portions. Great quality. Great pub. End of. What more do you wantFood: 5/5
Stopped by for Christmas lunch, food was great, plenty of the stuff you really want on one, enough in there to satisfy without feeling ridiculously full. Service was great, would highly recommend Parking: Caters for approximately 30 cars, 2 mins from the door
Hasn’t been here for over 35 years, what a change. Lovely add ins to the building and a great homely atmosphere. The food was fantastic, had the turkey dinner which was as good as home. Too many places attempt roasts and disappoint but this was exceptional. The wine was reasonably priced and well chilled. Overall very good value and will definitely return
Lovely food,great menu,very popular, it's a must to bookFood: 5/5
