Syd's Bar

Story

Previously known as Bodmin's Garrison Club. Sid and Christine Merchant have recently purchased, fully modernised and renamed the club Syd's Bar. With over 25 years experience running the successful Pencaran Club in Bodmin they are hoping to achieve the same friendly and welcoming atmosphere to existing and new members. The bar will be run as both a free house and members club. offering reasonable priced drinks, comfy leather seating, pool tables, flat screened televisions and a large function room. Bookings can be made for christenings, birthday parties, wedding receptions, wakes etc.

Moved to the area recently and heard good reviews about the venue. I didn’t have to sell a kidney to buy a pint! Reasonable pricing and friendly staff. Will definitely come back again!
Such a shame it's closing after all these years.
Great experience and couldn't ask for a better pub owner. I 100% recommend Syds for the atmosphere and just a great place for a laugh and to chill out after work with a pint.
Cheap and cheerful with a wide range of drinks and snacks. Plenty of seating, lots of comfy chairs and lots of standing/bar space too - it's kind of like being in a "man cave" but ladies are welcome if a bit few and far between! Always clean and tidy and there are large flat screens inside and out so perfect for football viewing!

Great bar, friendly owner, staff and customers.
Hired Syd's hall for gathering post funeral. Syd is great and charged us a fair price for hall hire and teas and coffee. Plenty of seating and tables, nice bar area and toilets were spotless.
Very pleasant time as always
