Cracking village pub with excellent, top end "pub grub" food. I had the steak pie, which was excellent. My friend had fish and chips, which was fresh, well cooked and huge! Friendly and welcoming bar staff. The bar is well looked after with a clean and fresh feeling. Plenty of parking across the road and close to Luxulyn station if you prefer not to or can't drive. There's not many tables for dining, so it's essential to book if you want food. Parking: About 15 to 20 spaces in pub car park plus on street parking Kid-friendliness: Kids seem to be welcome. There were a few children in the bar when we visited
I've had several meals here and they have all been excellent. It was my Father In Law's birthday and it's the ideal blend of being busy enough to give it a friendly atmosphere without being too brash or loud. It's the perfect venue for family gatherings. We went as a party of 6, 4 adults and 2 juniors and it was as good a meal as I could wish for. The Sunday roast options were small, regular and large. I've only ever gone for the regular which is generous. The beef was extremely tasty and I would highly recommend it. The staff are very friendly and make you feel very welcome. Deserts are delicious and again served in generous portion sizes. There's something for everyone from ice cream sundaes to sticky toffee pudding on offer. Parking: There is a free car park but not the easiest to manoeuvre about.
Found this delight on a walk over the weekend. Surprised to find they did food on a Sunday evening, so changed my plans and dined there. Really friendly local pub, with a good menu and sensible prices. Food was excellent as was the service. Shame its miles from where I live but I will definately be back if I am down that way again. Definately one to recommend. Parking: Large car park
Fantastic lunch veggie burger & loaded fries, lovely friendly atmosphere and friendly locals who loved my Cocker Spaniel he loved you too . Definitely coming back again. Highly recommended. Second visit, 2 days later: fish & chips excellent & banoffee waffle amazing. Couldn’t move afterwards and had to go home for a sleep
A lovely Sunday evening meal, in a traditional family pub. Great service and very welcoming. Definitely recommend the gammon and chips and the pies and chips!!Food: 5/5
Excellent local village pub. Friendly staff, good atmosphere. Nice foodFood: 5/5
Welcoming, comfortable and the meal was outstanding - quality food presented with real care and thought. A little off the beaten track, but absolutely worth it.Food: 5/5
Best meal out I’ve had since I can remember, COVID safe and socially distanced, with staff wearing masks even though the restrictions have been eased. Homemade pie was excellent, turkey and leak there was so much meat in it, was full really but just managed to squeeze in the Jaffa cake cheesecake wow, it was worth it. Don’t need to eat for a week now. Staff also really friendly, highly recommend.
This village pub is in a league of its own! Lovely people, great selection of ale, outstanding food and atmosphere. Good value for money. We can't wait to visit again!
What a great find, lovely friendly pub, fantastic food. Huge portions and great prices. So good we ate here 2 nights running. Would recommend to anyone staying in the area or visiting the Eden Project which is only 10mins away.
