We had a terrible day today at Swiss Cottage swimming pool. We joined in July 2025, for my daughter to go swimming. She is autistic and has mental health difficulties. I have to help her to get changed and she needs constant reassurance. We arrived at the pool with the small swimming aids that she likes to use. Last year we had permission to use them by the lifeguard with the long ginger beard. My daughter was distressed when a man came up to us and said that we couldn't use them. I felt vulnerable myself, as I was in the pool with a man towering over me and telling me off. I said that we had permission to use them. This was in the slow lane, and in the medium lane there were other people using similar swimming aids. I repeated that my daughter has special needs and we had permission to use them. My daughter was really distressed when another man, called Adam with a black t-shirt, came over and was so nasty and rude. He was the manager today, Monday 2nd February at 3pm. I started to cry and he saw this but it made him even more rude, no basic manners, and this was a manager?? Then the man with the ginger beard in a red t-shirt came over and asked me what had happened. I was crying and said that my daughter comes to the pool for swimming as therapy as she is autistic and I myself have a mental health condition. He just walked off. No apology from Adam in the black t-shirt. Nobody showed any understanding of basic customer service and we were very distressed. I would have liked an apology as I was crying but they didn't seem to care. I have now cancelled the Direct Debit and will not be going back to Swiss Cottage. The blonde woman on the desk was also nasty to me. ALL THE STAFF NEED TRAINING!!nBe sympathetic to women and those with disabilities. It's now 8pm and my daughter is still upset, she was shaking with nerves.nI AM NEVER GOING BACK TO SWISS COTTAGE. My daughter and I are traumatised, women should not be treated this way in 2026.nI am going back to the Westminster swimming pools, where everyone is polite, saying please and thank you. Appalling
I’ve had a brilliant experience at Swiss Cottage Leisure Centre — the facilities are extensive and well-equipped, from the spacious gym and pool to the variety of classes on offer. The staff are friendly and helpful, and there’s such a great community feel that every visit feels energising. Whether swimming, working out, or joining a fitness session, it’s a fantastic place to stay active and have fun in London!
Great pool, great new as of late 2025 soft play, and the staff are mostly chill, helpful, and friendly. The sauna is very nice, and the cafe has everything you need. Proximity to library, outdoor play areas, and other cafes/restaurants makes this Leisure Centre fantastically suited for families, as well as those who may be visiting the Marriott.
Nice sports centre. The sports hall is in the basement, and the water foundation is in the gym on the 1st floor. Walls of the sports hall are mostly grey, with one side with white bits and windows and a bit hard to see the shuttle. The ceiling is white as well.
It’s a great centre. The amenities are commendable. It is a perfect weekend space for family and kids.nnThe best part was that the showers and changing rooms were clean. Too clean honestly.nnThe sauna and steam is great too. Just the steam room was a bit smelly, perhaps because it was a weekend. But I am not sure, it was my first time there. But overall, really enjoyed my time there.
