Trafalgar Square is one of the most famous public squares in London. It was built in the 1840s to commemorate the British victory at the Battle of Trafalgar. At the center stands Nelson's Column, a tall monument dedicated to Admiral Nelson. Four large bronze lions guard the base of the column. The square is surrounded by important buildings like The National Gallery. Today, it is a popular place for tourists, celebrations, and public events.
A beautiful square to pass by while you’re visiting London. Next to it there’s a big underground station, including Northern line. In Christmas it had a nice Christmas market and cool street performances.
One of theost beautiful squares across London. A must visit place, the most photographed area and my visit during Christmas had enhanced this location, with delicious food stalls, marketplaces for shopping and I even got to meet Emma Thompson!! Do not forget to add this place on your London itinerary.
This square is a nice little spot. There are benches for resting/visiting or just listening to the water fountains. You can see Big Ben in the background, which makes for nice photo ops. We happen to be there on a Friday evening and there was an outdoor dance happening, everyone was laughing and having a great time. This square is close to some shops and not far from the horse guardsmen. Worth a walk through.
Trafalgar Square is the vibrant heart of London, buzzing with energy, history, and culture. Dominated by the majestic Nelson’s Column and surrounded by iconic landmarks like the National Gallery, the square is a perfect blend of sightseeing and people-watching.nnIt’s an ideal spot to soak in the city’s atmosphere—whether watching the fountains, spotting the famous lion statues, or enjoying the street performers. The space often hosts events, exhibitions, and seasonal celebrations, adding extra charm to every visit.nnEasy to access and centrally located, Trafalgar Square is not just a tourist hotspot—it’s a meeting point and a cultural hub that captures the spirit of London. A must-visit for first-timers and locals alike!
