This leisure centre offers active sport activities and I love coming here for Vivian’s Zumba classes on Thursdays! Occasionally, they organise events for all ages, and they have an outstanding spa where highly trained professionals treat you like a king/queen! Very great location, plenty lockers, big changing areas with showers, rather cleaner venue than most other Better Me places I had been to! There’s also a nice coffee and snack bar at the entrance for people to get together or wait for their beloved ones to finish their activities, and it is very reasonably priced with big range of healthy options!
Soft play is nice and has so many to explore for my 2-year old but the pool main pool is unfortunately not the one for him. We tried 3 times and he came out with rashes on his body and partial limbs. Contact dermatitis was considered as we went to other swimming pool and he was fine. Not sure what is the reason….maybe the difference of chlorine level?
Is this branch having management issues? For some reason they keep cancelling children’s swim sessions, it has happened multiple times now. They need to either re-arrange their time slots for children’s swimming or remove it instead of regularly cancelling, it’s not nice especially for kids looking forward to swimming. Serious issues at this branch here.
So many classes get cancelled or instructors just don’t show up as management is sadly unable to organise covers for when regular instructors go on holidays. This happens regularly. We’ve been bringing up the issue for months now and nothing has changed. Managers Jamie and Charles are some of the most unprofessional and uncaring staff I’ve ever had to deal with. I’d give the centre 1 star and stop going if it wasn’t for some of the most amazing instructors working there who actually deserve 5 stars and more. Upgrading the equipment is pretty useless if you don’t know how to manage a gym.
Plenty of natural light and excellent facilities make this gym and pool a great local choice for exercise and relaxation. My only criticism is that the pool and spa/ sauna are situated on two different floors which makes them impossible to combine in a visit and it’s a shame really. Would avoid weekends when it gets a bit noisy with soft play and kids birthdays, mornings and evenings are a bliss.
