As a North American living in London, I was finding it very difficult to find a pool where my husband and I can bring our 8 month old daughter swimming whenever we want, without having to commit to full gym’s membership. We decided to give this place a try and so happy we did! I was impressed that for a public pool the building was modern, as were the pools. It’s nice to have 3 pools to choose from being the main one, the medium one where lessons were taking place so couldn’t use it during that time, and the paddling pool. We visited on a Saturday afternoon and it wasn’t busy at all. The pools and areas were clean although the floors could have been a bit cleaner, but as we had the paddling pool to ourselves that was the cleanest area. The paddling pool was perfect for our baby, which was initially closed as there was no life guard but a member of staff called one over right away for us to be able to use it which was very nice. It was slightly cold and needs to be warmer, we were told it was supposed to be the warmest, but the medium sized pool seemed to feel more. The changing/shower facilities are basic and could be a bit cleaner but again decent for a public pool. There’s also hair dryers which is nice. We also noticed basketball courts which seemed great. In our experience the staff members were nice and helpful. We will definitely be visiting again!
Clean and tidy place. Professional staff. Worth the time and the money. I highly recommend for your fitness and wellbeing.
It used to be a pleasant and hygienic environment for working out, but recently, it has become quite dirty. It appears that no one is taking care of cleanliness. The changing rooms, showers, and especially the toilets are consistently dirty. Even the gym floor is in poor condition. I doubt I will return to this place anymore, which is a shame because it has great potential to be an ideal workout and leisure spot.
Rude receptionist! Oh my goodness I’ve never encountered someone who’s more rude than the lady who was working at the reception this morning. She had grey hair and was awful to us. I showed her a voucher on my phone and straight away she got rude. Which is all fair at the end, once they explained nicely what it was, but it was more her attitude because I didn’t even try and argue with her I just asked oh do I need to bring it with me? And she said well yeah but with such an attitude. In front of my toddler. Also, the person who gave me the voucher said I can use it there so how was I supposed to know that they don’t accept paper vouchers? The rude receptionist said I need to bring it in and the manager said no we don’t even accept that. Confusing much? It’s not even the first time I’ve encountered this elderly receptionist it’s like she’s always so angry! She’s definitely not the sweet grandmother type. The manager came across as if he was scared of her. I’ve never seen anything like it. I get it’s not David Lloyds but maybe they need a course on customer service. Disgusting treatment of clients.
Arrived 9.30 for a swim when pool was meant to be open, was told they were closed for a gala and to return 11am. Did so, booked it on the app, returned and double checked at 10.55am with staff I could go through. Got changed, showered and then found pool still closed and gala was going on until 12pm! All the staff said they didn't know about it and it wasn't their responsibility. But there were approx 100 kids in there so was impossible to miss. And another swimmer said the same had happened last week. A swimmer with Learning Disabilities who had also been waiting with her carer since 9.30am was very distressed. All they could offer for their hopeless lack of basic operational skills was £2.70 compensation. Terrible communication, manager seems completely incompetent and staff unable to make basic observations. So much for Better!
