Unnecessarily rude reception staff, sour faces and just very rude in manner. I arrived in quite a poorly state and thought I was going to faint, I told reception he just said go and knock on the door, without telling me which door, so I said which door, he said in an aggressive manner the one over there. I went through the door and they said they could do anything to help me, they had no spare beds so sent me out again. I did ask again for a update on where I was on the list but they didn't answer properly. I eventually got to see the GP there who was excellent. I got the treatment I needed but someone to return the next day for some medication they didn't have.nSome suggestions I would like to make are: Training for reception staff as they was no excuse for most of their bad attitude. When staff are calling patients, call their whole name, rather than John, Sarah.nA member of staff should update everyone in reception about time delays.nThe toilets weren't the cleanest so regular cleaning should be done.
Really impressed by the staff at the Whittington. I took my boyfriend who had a bad wound on his hand and we were seen immediately for an initial review and then waited under an hour to be seen by the nurse. Then we were referred to the Royal Free. At each step it was communicated what would happen next so it felt reassuring.
My experience at the Whittington Hospital Emergency Department was extremely disappointing. I waited over seven hours before being seen by a doctor, despite arriving with a genuine emergency. During that time, there was no clear communication from staff about delays, waiting times, or what to expect. Patients were left sitting for hours in an overcrowded and uncomfortable waiting area, with many visibly unwell or in pain.nnWhen I was finally seen, the staff were polite but clearly exhausted and overworked. The lack of organisation and resources was obvious requests for basic things like water or pain relief took far too long. It’s hard not to feel forgotten when you’re sitting for hours without updates or reassurance.nnWhile I understand NHS staff are under enormous pressure, the 7-hour wait and lack of communication were unacceptable. The department urgently needs better staffing, clearer processes, and more respect for patients’ time and wellbeing.
I am very grateful to God for this hospital.nMy gratitude to the receptionists, nurses, doctors, security guards, etc.nIn 2020 or 2021, I don't remember exactly, I stayed a few days in this hospital and was very well treated by everyone who works there. My thanks for this hospital existing.nThis hospital is in my daily prayers.
I just wanted to say a big thank you to the lovely receptionis named Tatiana in A&E. She was so kind, professional, she is well aware of her visitors and directs them in the right directions. & always smiling!nnKeep up the good work!
