My son did a bass guitar rock course last summer. From Day 1 he was working with a group of fellow students, choosing and rehearsing their set for the performance on the final day. He loved it and the show was fantastic! He is still in touch with some of the other musicians he met and hopes to come back to ICMP for another course soon.
I wouldn't recommend a short course at this university.nn- Classrooms: Very small, hot, stuffy and smelly.n- Course structure: a couple of sessions combined beginner and intermediate groups due to tutor absences, so the teaching wasn't tailored or specific. For singing courses, the format was 1 hour group singing and brave individuals could sing alone for personalised feedback. Feedback on individual singing was often overly positive even when improvement was clearly needed, so it wasn’t very helpful. It's also boring to sit and watch others perform.n- Punctuality: Classes frequently started late.n- Facilities: Female toilets were not very clean.n- Refund: I understand refunds aren’t offered, but it’s still disappointing to pay fully for a service that felt below expectations.
I got the opportunity to learn and develop my musical hobbies into a skilled and interesting artist. I am still on my journey and I know where I want to get to - production of my songs and make interesting music. And pursue a career in the field of song writing and production.
ICMP is a gem of a learning experience! I learned some great tips and techniques to mix my home recordings form a professional sound engineer! Thank you Conor. Absolutely brilliant!
The short course was taught very well. Amazing knowledge and lovely teacher. Unfortunately we never started on time and the responses from emails are hit and miss
