Beautiful palace! I wish there was more information about Princess Diana. There was lots of information about Queen Victoria it was very interesting. The people who volunteer was full of information and very kind. They also have free audio and the books in each room is a very good resource. It was a very enjoyable day.nWe went in February I would love to go in the summer to see the gardens they will be beautiful.
After visiting Kensington Palace, I must admit I am heavily disappointed. I expected such an important national landmark to offer an exceptional experience, but unfortunately, it stands out as one of the least impressive palaces and castles I’ve visited in the UK. It feels like a tourist trap, seemingly designed for visitors with limited time in the country, rather than a genuine cultural treasure.nnThe part of the palace open to the public features poor exhibitions, with many rooms containing little more than a few paintings and empty floors. In some rooms, there’s only a single piece of furniture or perhaps two, which feels underwhelming for a place of such historical significance. Shockingly, many walls and ceilings are not original but covered with wallpapers designed to look old. For example, the entirety of the King's Staircase, including the ceiling, is covered in printed wallpaper, which comes across as tacky and disappointing.nnThat said, it’s not entirely without merit. Visitors can view a few impressive pieces of jewelry, such as tiaras, necklaces, and earrings probably replicas!. However, dedicating an entire large room to just three sets of jewelry seems like a poor use of space. Other highlights include a royal bed, various medal collections, and a selection of paintings.nnDespite these positives, the overall experience falls short. In my opinion, the ticket price is far too high for what is offered. At £3–£5, it might be worth a visit, but not at the current rates.nnThis palace ranks among the worst royal residences I’ve visited. I won’t be returning, and I strongly recommend against visiting to anyone who asks me for advice.
I had an amazing time checking out all the different parts of the tour! With your ticket immediately comes a free digital guided tour through headphones and a phone sectioned off into the different parts of the palace. Each room has its own individual talk about the history of it and often times the furniture seen decorated in it. I felt like i was truly in the time period that was displayed!nWith tickets i absolutely recommend buying it online before hand as me and my mother arrived at 10:00 on the dot to buy tickets and when we exited there was an immediate line. However, the line was still quick and efficient and we managed to make it in 5 minutes.nnOverall, I absolutely recommend the experience if you would like to enjoy the history and interesting furniture of the 1800s!
Thrilling to visit here to better understand the history of the palace. Well presented and organized, many historical artifacts and thorough information provided. Audio guide good included with admission price but the informational signs alone are also more than sufficient. Favorites were the Young Victoria exhibits/rooms and the temporary exhibit about the diversity of staff and their everyday work here. Well worth the price of admission. 3 hours provides a very complete visit.
Gorgeous place to visit. Don't miss going to the palace and walking around the extensive grounds. Great place to see locals walking their dogs and families enjoying a walk. I wish I had booked afternoon tea at the Orangery.
