Very disappointed with the customer service experienced at Staines. I’ve used this station for 7 plus years. On platform one there is a mature gate staff called Liz who makes my journey a misery. I’ve made to complaints with no resolve. I take my severely autistic daughter through the double gate line gate. Everyday that this member of staff in question is on the QR code won’t work. However, every other gate staff it does. I’ve later to discover liz is tampering with the gate so that you require assistance. The issue with this is we are missing our train which isn’t fair. She has also refused me the gate and made me go through the single stations with my pram and we’ve been trap several times. To which my daughter distressed with. Please resolve this Staines manager as I’m getting no response. Thanks you.
Older women on the gates with the glasses and grey hair is always incredibly rude and never smiles. My phone died once with my ticket on and she started accusing me of being some sort of criminal instead of offering any sort of assistance . An absaloute disgrace and gives me bad vibes always, please swr take a look at your staff
Well kept clean station connecting London to the beautiful town of Staines. Can get a little busy since it is a small station but has a toilet and vending machine for passenger comfort.
This is a very good station, with all the facilities and services you could want when travelling.nnStaines station is owned and operated by SWR. It has two platforms, each with its own gated exit. They are connected by a footbridge over the tracks, and there are lifts both sides, making it fully accessible.nnBoth sides also have steps and ramps between platform and street level.nnAccessible toilet facilities are also available.nnThe ticket office is staffed, and has good opening hours. The two staff I spoke to were professional and friendly.nnTrain services to Waterloo are frequent, and journey time is from around 40 minutes, to just under an hour, depending on which train you catch.nnServices also run to Reading, Weybridge and Windsor.nnBus services are available outside the station to Thorpe Park theme park.nnThere's a reasonable sized pay and display car park nearby, and large cycle racks by the station.nnUsing a well maintained and signed footpath, it is just over 10 minutes level walk to the main shopping centre.
Good connection to London and busses to Thorpe Park.
