Good signage, disabled parking at the front where coaches stop, very friendly approachable staff, easy to buy tickets at several diy ticket machines. Weirdly the accessible toilets were bolted with a padlock on the outside, didn't get that as they require a radar key anyway
I've been getting trains from this station regularly for work/leisure since 2017. Back then it was half-decent but since COVID it's become a miserable shell of itself. Toilets almost always out of action unforgivable for a major interchange, no waiting room on the main-line central platform island despite plenty of space, decrepit lifts located at far end of the platform, food outlet often closed, expensive vending machines, cold, roof leaks... appalling. Also no proper shelter or facilities on the laughable so-called 'Platform' 3. In my 8-year-old daughter's words, "I HATE this station, I HATE the train company, I NEVER WANT TO GET THIS TRAIN AGAIN" ... she used to be a train fan but this station grinds you down. Congrats SWR. You've taken a 4/5 station and screwed it up royally. The only reason this is a 2/5 not a 1 is many of the station staff are helpful. But they're being BADLY let down by management.
3 trains to Waterloo all within 5 mins. If you run you can miss all 3!
Just amazing how helpful were the staff in an very unpleasant situation today 14.07.22. Train got cancelled due to an fatal emergency on the way to Waterloo. Staff was there to help and inform everyone. Big THANK YOU !!!
Got served by a big man at the station ticket counter with the name badge I will mention his name in the official complaint and job title 'customer ambassador team leader'. He looked least interested and kept making ugly faces when serving me. He made rude and mocking comments about me to the customers he served after me and engaged in the responses they made. I questioned him about it and he got defensive. Definitely apt to be the customer ambassador
My local station. Staff always friendly and helpful. Good basic facilities, tea/coffee shop, vending machines. Today, on the run up to Remembrance Day, the ticket office was decorated with large poppies and children’s artwork which I thought was rather lovely. Sometimes the toilets are... best word I can think of is ‘minging’. Usually late at night.
Lots of shops. Lots of restaurants. Lots of people. Lots of traffic. Lots of buses and train services. Lot of high rise flats/apartments. Very nice theatre. Good cinema.
Definitely better station than Guildford, way more trains and no such unusual delays. Prefer to drive from Guildford to Woking and park the car there.
Always had great experiences here, for example today an older gentleman employee helped me with my suitcase. They should be proud of their staff because they’re amazing.
Due to my own shortcoming I had made a mistake with my ticket, but sales officer ‘Alan’ very kindly helped me fix it and thanks to him I was able to get on time to my job! Thankyou Alan!
