Was surprisingly impressed for having slightly more facilities and much better access to the platforms via lifts unlike Raynes Park. A ticket office as well as a waiting room is available here too, which is nice.

New Malden Station is, well, a station. No surprises there. If you come by at the right time you can get on a train and go somewhere else. Going somewhere else is recommended, because sitting in the station for any length of time is mostly quite tedious. However, on a good day you can enjoy the outstanding work of contemporary fiction officially known as the "departure board". If you have a reasonable imagination you can come up with all sorts of games to keep yourself amused while waiting for the train to arrive, from guessing how late it will be to guessing whether it has 4 or 8 carriages (clue: when 8 are needed it might well be 4), and so on. You can even buy a range of drinks and snacks here. In the summer months it's good to arrive with plenty of time before the train, to get mentally prepared for the process of entering something that feels like an overcrowded sauna on wheels.

When I ever go for a train ride to Waterloo or Vauxhall or Wimbledon, youjust go for Platform 1, for Richmond, Shepperton, Kingston, Twickenham, you should go to Platform 4. Very Well organised.
