If you're changing for the Barnes branch on a train coming from reading, change here rather than Staines or anywhere else. You get better chance of grabbing a seat, and if you smoke, you can step into the car park for a quick puff while waiting for your connection without going through any barriers. very useful.

Great staff and service ,the station as a taxi rank just outside the main entrance too,all local taxi drivers with a great knowledge of the area.

I find it to be a very lackluster station. It does have an ATM outside of the station but the station gets very crowded in the morning peak. The shelter on platform 2 is placed in an awkward place. You have to walk down the platform to board from the train.
