Spacious layout , amazing selection of products . Like their fresh produce section . Good spice selection. Competitive prices overall. Getting the trolley requires a coin, and it's quite out of the way. Self checkouts are great if you have very few items, but not if your trolley is full. Wish to see more manned checkout counters in the future.
Pigeons are free to roam within this store! constantly over the course of 20 years visiting this store it gets worse. Pigeons tearing open pastry bags and eating them. Pigeons sitting on the croissants in plain view. Pigeons poop everywhere. You say to the staff ‘there’s a pigeon there’ and they agree there’s a pigeon and just shrug their shoulders.nnI wish I was exaggerating but I’m not. Don’t buy the pastries!nnThe store layout is constantly changing as they ‘improve’ the store but none of the changes ever make any sense! The aisles get narrower year upon year and it makes its super difficult to navigate as there’s no room to move around the constant cages that they park in the middle whilst the staff stock. God help you if you are disabled/ have mobility issues, if you have a pram or trolley.nnThey got rid of almost all staffed checkout for a load of self check outs. One for trolleys and one for baskets. I got barked at once for using the trolley check out as I had a basket. Despite having a full to overflowing basket I had to transport my basket carrying arse over to the basket checkout to play a game of jenga with balancing my shopping in the tiny square for self checkout basketsnnThere’s maybe a human manning an actual till staff conveyor belt style maybe once per month?nnTypically there’s no one on there and you find yourself in a queue for self checkout that reaches almost always nearly out of the door. Again I wish I was exaggerating!nnThese massive queues have one person on the floor manning the self checkouts which I guess save in labour costs but if you have an issue with the ever poor self check out scanning or placing things in the bagging area, along with needing approval for age restricted products then be prepared to wait several lifetimes to get the staff acknowledge you need assistance to tap their little code in and let you actually buy your shopping and get the hell out of the storennThat’s if you get acknowledged by the staff. The majority are kind and considerate hardworking staff who are trying their best in an obviously poorly managed environment. However some of the staffs attitude is disgraceful and they shouldn’t work with members of the publicnnI have many examples but I’ll share the latest. Bought a bottle of rum! After a wait to get the staff member to acknowledge me and tap their code in for the age restriction approval I paid for my shopping but I had to get the staff member to take the lock thing off the bottle of rum. She screamed at me ‘did you pay for this?’ I’m like er yes? She is like ‘show me the receipt!’ I’m scrambling in my bag to find the receipt in a panic as others wanted use of the staff member for their own self check out issues. The staff member then reached inside my bag INSIDE MY PERSONAL handbag with her hands moving my personal belongings around to try and find the receipt. I had to ask her to move her hand out of my handbag. My personal space violated. I found the receipt and showed it to her and she screamed at me that I am rude.nnI left the stores in tears as it triggered my cPTSD. I wrote to Sainsburys with their lettuceusknow feedback system but never heard a peep backnnAnother situation I had a store manager grab my shopping and push it further back on the conveyor belt to instead let another customer go before me they had an issue with the scan and shop but for some reason the manager decide to cut into the only manned human till for this customer and literally shove with the length of his arm my shopping all the way down the conveyor belt. If he had said something like “sorry can I sort this customer out before you as they have xyz problem I’d have said no bother go ahead”. He didn’t say a word to me just got my shopping and pushed it away!nnThere’s more examples but this is turning into a novel. I’ve spent over 20 years shopping in this store and it just gets worse and worse. Thousands upon thousands I’ve spent here.nnNow there’s more pigeons in the shop than staff I think I’ll spend my money elsewhere
Since my posting last year, Sainsbury continue to sell out of date products. I even had to teach a manager that the packing code is the date ie 2703 represents 27 March and I don’t work for any of the supermarkets. When are they going to do the decent thing and stop conning shoppers? Absolutely disgusting. Spoke to a manager about selling out of date products. Trying to insinuate that I didn’t know. The packing code is the date. It’s the 9 August and they are selling items for 7 and 8 August. Told me to take photos.
During my recent visit to Camden Town Sainsbury's supermarket, I noticed some areas where the management could improve to enhance the customer experience. I observed some items in the store that were not in optimal condition, and the overall maintenance of the store could be better. The customer service team could also benefit from some additional training to provide a more satisfactory experience. I hope that the store management takes these observations into account and makes the necessary improvements to the store to ensure that customers have a pleasant shopping experience in the future.
-Mouldy, gone off fruits and vegetables on display.n-Dirty fridge shelves with blood and meat juices.n-Mouldy fridge shelves.n-Out of date and mouldy baked goods.n-Dirty and smelly corridors.n-Frozen products thrown to floor by staff before being placed in freezers.n-Non existent cleaning standards & grime covered interiors.n-Hard to find products, layout makes no sense at times and keeps changing, not for better.n-Shelves not fully stocked.n-Self checkout changes have made queues longer during rush hours.n-Limited cash self checkouts making queues longer.nnSainsburys achieving the impossible: Turning a prime location into a mouldy, grime covered, unhygienic nightmare. The community deserves much better.
