I love the Almeida. I can recommend the theatre. The space is small enough to feel really involved in the play and it is well designed to allow good view of stage throughout.nnHowever I would also like to recommend the café bar. The staff are so friendly and the food is great
First visit to the Almedia Theatre.nFront of House staff. Friendly and helpful.nCafe/bar reasonablenI think the theatre is across two buildings. But the performance space in one.nnShow: Portia CoughlannA moving and difficult at times play. The cast is excellent. Especially, Alison Oliver as the titular Portia. The play set in Ireland through I've not met an Irish woman called Portia. Kathy Kiera Clarke is excellent in both comedic parts and the more serious elements of the play.nnA very powerful play.
Lovely theatre off Upper Street, Islington. Easy to get to, good transport links. Watched 'The Secret Life of Bees' which was truly amazing. Outstanding music and performances. Intimate theatre with a great cafe with reasonably priced food and drinks. Production started 30 minutes after the published time but that was fine as there is plenty of seating in the foyer and cafe.
Such a great venue, intimate yet designed to stage the epics, seen Cat on a hot tin roof recently here and Daisy Edgar jones was clearly the stand out star amongst an amazing cast, superb.
Gorgeous, intimate theatre in Islington. The staff are very welcoming and hospitable.nnI've seen two plays here which I've thoroughly enjoyed.nnThe tea and cakes from the cafe were delicious and reasonably priced.nnI'll definitely be back again!
