I had an extremely disappointing experience at this hotel during my stay in London. The most frustrating issue was that my room had no air conditioning, which I wasn’t informed about at the time of booking. When I asked the reception about it, they acknowledged the lack of AC but failed to mention this important detail beforehand. I requested to be moved to a room with AC, but the staff refused, which left me feeling completely disregarded. I also asked for a discount due to the inconvenience, but they refused because I had booked through Booking.com, which felt completely unfair. To top it off, the reception staff were incredibly rude and unhelpful. This was by far the worst hotel experience I’ve had in London, and I would strongly advise others to look elsewhere.
I was worried about the comments but as we stayed for 8 days October-November I have not encountered any issue, the water heating in the toilet is good, Housekeeping cleans the rooms very well, and most importantly the bed is very comfortable. They treated kids very kindly and gave them halloween candies. The only downside is that the room was not very warm but thankfully the floor is carpet so it was not very cold and we sometimes needed to wear long sleeves at night. And although it is not as luxurious as other Marriott properties, but it served its purpose.
There is no accountability here when something goes wrong. The staff either are ignorant or are not inclined to help you solve your problems should one arise. My room had multiple issues - thermostat broken, charging ports broken in several locations, TV not fully operational. I went to the front desk to report these issues at 8 am and was assured someone would come take a look during the day. I come back in the evening to find all of the problems still present. I dial 0 for the operator to follow up on my requests. No one picks up the telephone. I go back downstairs to point the issues out. I am told that they will send someone up. Someone comes up. They tell me that next time, I can just dial 0 for an operator for assistance. He proceeds show me how to dial 0. I then tell him to observe. The phone rings and rings and no one picks up. At this point, he is clearly embarrassed. He then proceeds to check on my thermostat issue. He reports back that it is broken, which is already what I had reported to the front desk. I thank him for telling me what I already know. I go back down to the front desk. They now tell me there are no more engineers available to look at my issue. No one seemed willing to provide alternatives to my issues, but they were more than happy to tell me a manager can follow up with me on my concerns. I am here for another 4 nights. I would not recommend this hotel based on the complete apathy of the staff to try and help solve any issues that arise.
We had a wonderful stay at Marble Arch Marriott. Our room was clean and service was excellent. We loved the Pickled Hen restaurant attached to the hotel. We were a bit apprehensive about some rough reviews prior to our arrival, but found that they were completely unfounded. The location is perfect to explore London as it is in easy walking distance to buses and underground. When I say easy walking, let me add that I am a 65 yo female and my husband is 70!
I am currently staying here. We checked out today. The hotel for a London hotel is quite a good location for the price. The rooms are a bit dated but what hotel in an old city like London is not. The rooms are generous in size inhave stayed in rooms in London that are like 7sqm, so to have room to move around is a win. The staff have been so nice and accomidating in really cannot fault them. Perhaps this is a result of the comments. Either way, I like to think treat the review as you receive it. The food in the buffet was some of the best I have experienced in London from any hotel I have stayed in. The family also agreed. For reference, i have stayed at 53 Marriotts since January for work. So, take this review as an honest account from a season traveler.
Our room was by the elevator do it was noisy when people used the elevator. It was conveniently located for walking or catching the subway and we walked about 15 min. after taking the train from Heathrow airport. The buffet breakfast was wonderful; a wide variety and delicious. Staff was very helpful as well. Walkability: Very walkable to subway and train. About 20 min. walk from Buckingham Palace. Food & drinks: Very good fish and chips as well as beer. We loved the buffet breakfast.
I’m sadly to write my review that I’m not satisfied. When I checked-in that they already have been informed I would upgrade my room, and I paid my security deposit as per their regulations. I talked to them do I have to pay any extra charge for my upgrade. They told me no need because they have received the amount who is informing them. When I checked-out, I asked how long does it take when will you send me the security deposit? They told we are not going to return to you because the difference amount from original booking room to upgrade even though they told I have to pay more. When I check my statement I paid them twice and I’m trying to reach them nobody responded to me. How come such as International hotel is not cooperating with guest or customer like that. I’m truly sad for that.
Was looking to book a room soon for a specialoccasion. Bash the manager whome i met at the front desk showed me a few rooms that might suit my taste. We managed to pick the one I really want. I just want to say his customer service was absolutely amazing he had great charm and welcoming nature about him. This is how guests should be treated exceptional management skills. Many thanks Bash.
Staff and location are great. Hotel is very run down, room was dirty, dark and mold in the shower. Room also did not have proper lock system and they would not move me. Would not recommend staying here particularly for the cost the value is not aligned.Rooms: 1/5
We had a wonderful stay at this hotel for a week at the end of August! Staff is so friendly and attentive, rooms were very clean, and location is close to bus and train stations. Neighborhood has a ton of delicious Middle Eastern food.Rooms: 5/5
