The station is at the center of London. Underground Bakerloo and Piccadilly have stopped here. The instructions in the station is really clear. A statue of Cupid is on the piazza. A lot of souvenir shops are just near to the station. The night here is really special, you must have a try.

I had to pull an all-nighter here when I had a 13 hours layover.  Kind of a mistake.  Bars closed early leaving me with not much to do.  Had I a smart phone at the time, I might have found some place to go.  Otherwise I just wandered about waiting for the first train.  Live and learn.
